AJ Dybantsa planning a late decision kentucky remains in the mix

What is a good comparison for him (don't just restrict to past UK players)?

I think you take recruits like this. There's a difference between John Wall, Zion, AD, RJ Barret, true top 5 guys are takers. Top 20-25 guys usually are the ones who you dont want. That's the disconnect.

Even Pope said you need a good mix of ''burger boys'' and transfers.
I agree that we went from getting 2-4 top 10 guys every year from 2009-2016 to getting 2-4 that ranked 15-40 and they still left early. So all of a sudden we were replacing average freshmen every year with more average freshman.

BCG. was going after Euton type players
Tubby would occasionally get a Patterson, Crawford and Ramal and Morris, but he never had full teams of five stars and had to rely on Thomas' and Perry's for big minutes.
Sutton was using NIL before that allowed.
Hall, was... well that's too long ago and I don't remember.

Cal didn't get the job done anymore, but there was never a better HS recruiter at UK. Pitino was next best.
Hall's first class included the Mr. Basketball of Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana. Hall was an ace recruiter.

So the type of recruit Cal couldn’t get.

Guys who can dribble AND shoot.
Cal has always sucked at landing elite small forwards, going back to his Memphis days when he choked in the recruitments of Darius Rice and Thaddeus Young. In fact, here's a list of elite small forwards Cal failed at landing:

Darius Rice
Thaddeus Young
Will Barton
Tobias Harris
Harrison Barnes
Bazz Muhammed
Jabari Parker
Andrew Wiggins
Stanley Johnson
Kelly Oubre
Justise Winslow
Jayson Tatum
Miles Bridges
Jaylen Brown
Brandon Ingram
Jonathan Isaac
Zion Williamson
Cam Reddish
RJ Barrett
Jaden McDaniels
Scottie Lewis
Jalen Johnson
Jonathan Kuminga
Brandon Miller

Top ten-wise, he landed MKG, Knox, James Young, and the gift that keeps on giving, Justin Edwards.

He usually would bat about 1/7 when it came to landing primary wing forward targets.

Jacob of KSR said on their board a source told him that UK is still not on the list and not in the picture. So calm down everyone, dont get hopes up, it was just a hypothetical using a team that wasnt on the list so that those teams and fans didnt read anything into it.

I agree... he ain't coming... well, not unless Mark Pope and Joe Craft roll up with a checkbook and ask how many zeros are needed.

But based upon the brief clips I've seen of him (which is a terrible way to evaluate players), he is indeed insanely talented. He's one of the few guys that you watch the clips and feel supremely confident he will dazzle in the college game.

Don't worry, guys. If I win mega millions, I'll be getting us two guys like this every season.

I'll make the same commitment... HOWEVER, I'm not messing around with the nonsense of promised money and payments with no specific obligations of participation or performance. I'm all about the INCENTIVIZED contract. You play and get us an SEC title, you get this much. You get us a Final Four, you get this much. You win it all, and you get THIS MUCH.

I like that idea.
