First thing is first, and for me that is Dawson. Would I fire Dawson... No Probably not, unless Steve Spurrier is a guarantee. My issue with Dawson is the 2nd and long's (More than 8 yards) runs with 8 in the box. The play calling at Vandy with in the 5 yard line, the lack of a screen game, and the inability to make in game adjustments. The scheme is fine, the play calling and personnel are not.
Your offense, not matter what the scheme is built around an o-line, whether you want to be a Pro Style, Air Raid, or Running Wing T or power I offense. And this offensive line was just horrible. We consistently we shuffling the guys around trying to find the right 5. Swindle, West, and Kyle Meadows should have never started on that line. Ever! ULL, EKU and Even at times Charlotte D-line were getting pressure. My saving grace for next year is a Center that will be in his 5th year, an huge and experienced left tackle, Big George next to Tate is going to be a massive left side along with Cole and Ramsey on the right. Landon Young could start at Right Tackle, But if he does, he was better than anything we have and I am fine. It's not the blindside.
Dawson's offense is a big play offense. Vertical passes and big play ability backs with an o-line that will give a QB all day to let his receiver's come open. With the defenses we played, this was never going to work and when we did deliver the ball, more times than not it was dropped. (I wonder if Juice is still doing push ups with everyone when they drop a ball? I'd quit doing them with Dorian and give him blanket party). This where my frustration with Dawson is, screen, bubble screen, and WR Screen getting the defenses to chase and tire. (But if Dorian won't block, I guess a WR Screen wouldn't work anyway but would sure like to have seen Badet or Juice have a chance). Dawson had a couple of starts like that to get the QB in rhythm, but never used it to get the defense off balance. This led to a lot of sacks, a terrible offensive unit, and ultimately being the reason we ended up 5-7.

- Offensive Line (Must get better at pass blocking to run Dawson's scheme)
- Dawson (Better in game coordinator who can adjust on the fly and make smart decisions) Introduce the TE to the passing game in his scheme.
- WR (Quit dancing, start blocking and catching the damn ball)
