Add another O line guy.

With all the OL recruits we've landed in the past 2-3 years, none of them will be ready to play? Hall, Rodriguez, Bingham, Jones, Padgett, Wohlabaugh, et al - none of them will be ready? I find that hard to believe as our staff has been consistently good at developing the guys who stick around.

Cox, Horsey (?), Buford, Burton, the LT from NoIL, Flax (although I'm hoping someone beats him out and maybe he slides inside for Manning) - that's not a bad starting group (assumes Horsey stays for one more year and takes Manning's place at OG, which is undecided for now). Maybe we don't have a 'true' RT (Buford?) but there is definitely at least potential for an 8+ man rotation with the guys I've mentioned (and I left some out, for sure). If Horsey doesn't return, maybe Buford/Flax moves inside and one of the above mentioned will be the RT.

Now that we've got the LT from NoIL, I don't perceive another starting OL is as critical as RB, maybe another LB and/or DB/S. Unless none of the 6 I mentioned are going to serious contenders, I think we can be pretty selective on any other OL transfer.

Offensive linemen take longer to develop than any position in football. The learning curve and jump to college for linemen is greater than any other position.

Here is how I hope hte Oline works out (I was never understanding what Yenser saw at times)

LT - Cox
LG - Horsey (I'm going to say there is enough smoke to see him back)
C - Cox
RG - Burton
RT - Flax (should be Buford IMO).

Still a problem group IMO.

-But Horsey is a proven solid guard.
-Cox at LT is going to be better than Horsey was last year.
- Cox at C should only improve IMO
- Burton was rough looking to me...but another year of S&C should really help him
- Flax sucks hard in my book. I guess he cna't be any better. But he was still a motion penalty machine every game and has feet like concrete.

I am not sure if Bingham or Hall can grab a spot from these guys. But this Oline still looks shotty as hell in my book. We'll see if Coen can scheme better and Leary can get rid of the ball quicker to help them exceed.

I feel Bowles is an under valued transfer. Dude can play, and has played, 4 positions on the line. His best ability is his versatility. Such a valuable asset to have going forward. But yeah, I still think we need one more OT. Goodwin’s transfer pretty much makes it a necessity at this point.

Some of the Auburn folks seemed to think that Leary was going to bring along an all ACC OL teammate if he went there. Does he have a teammate in the portal or may be thinking about entering the portal that might be an option? Not sure where they got the info from, but I made a mental note of it when I heard it.

Don't think it's a done deal Goodwin's gone. Hope he swallows his pride instead of a cheeseburger, comes back and gets himself in shape to play.

I think Bowles will factor in at OG.

Has the staff really?
The days of great depth and productivity at o line is starting to fade in distance.
This year we needed a transfer and position change for new center,.
The year before we needed a transfer and position change for new center.
Next year we need a transfer and beg Kenneth Horsey to play a 6th year.
You can blame replacing NFL players is hard.
But there appears to be no threat of needing to do that any time soon.
That is one area Stoops needs to get straight for the future.
