Adam Zagoria is not hearing Murray commits Tuesday

I just hope none of our over zealous fanbase sent bad tweets to Jamal when they thought it was 100% Oregon. I don't know why I would think that could happen. :(

If they do, thankfully most of them believe his fake account is really him, so it'll all go there.

I mean, put yourself in their shoes. This was a kid who wasn't even the biggest deal on his own team, who wasn't from America, and who was a high school junior, all three months ago. Suddenly he could be 11 months from an NBA pay day, and not only has to get his grades in order for a college in a different country, but has to decide which route to his future he wants to take.

If you thought you had a year to decide something that could change your entire life and then all of the circumstances changed AND someone asked you to pick in a fraction of the time, you might take a little extra room to breathe at 17 years old.

Or, this is all an elaborate scheme cooked up by a good family with no ill-will towards us to increase a teenager's awareness only among the same fan base he would ultimately be alienating.

This board is the most watched. Need I say more? Have already had a response from a former player. You guys set the bar. They see it, and form opinions. Not that it makes a big difference, it probably doesn't. BUT, this is the media outlet they (recruits, and parents) come to.

Be kind.

Well, in that case, as a die-hard Oregon basketball fan, Jamal Murray has funny looking toes and I don't want him.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way...

Players, former players, recruits, and parents of recruits/players also need to realize that we are just fans and we are humans who come here after a hard days work to talk about the team we absolutely adore and they have to realize that we have bad days as well.

We don't know what they go through, and they sure don't know what we go through during a day.

That does not excuse us when we act like idiots and say hurtful things, but it is true. We are humans, too.

Here is a response from somebody that played at UK:

ol @ the fake fact of anyone saying a college decision is based on anyone else other than themselves or their family

In that case, Jamal, do you want to go through the rest of your life being called a Duck? Being called a Wildcat is much more badass. Who wants to be a f***ing duck?

This comment almost went horribly, horribly wrong. Jamal Murray probably doesn't want to be called that word either.

So what does the announcement postponement mean exactly. ...Murray wants things to cool down then announce in 2 weeks Oregon?? UK is still an option angel Oregon lean is all fabricated??? I mean where do we stand

Don't understand half of your post. Announcement was never real. Can't be postponed if it was never scheduled. Canadian insiders suck at their job, so I don't buy that whole "yep, Oregon, done deal" from the Canadian "insiders" now. Nobody knows, at all. That's where we stand. Somewhere, just like Oregon.

Dave's right.

And I am guilty of it myself, in this very instance.

It's easy to get frustrated with this whole situation, but I shouldn't.

Each kid has to make the right choice for themselves and that might not be the one I want them to make.

So I apologize for questioning these players and their intentions. I don't know them.

But, man I don't understand the logic behind all these great players choosing other schools when they could go to UK.

Doesn't make sense for all of them to do it. One or two I could understand, but not all.

I wish these kids well, though, because they are just kids.

It's not all of them. Look at every single guy that choose to go elsewhere and you will see a legit reason for their choice. Every recruit has a list if priorities that they want from a school and each player is different.

Zimmerman- went to his hometown school
Diallo- went to another blue blood in Kansas.
Rabb- went to a hometown school
Newman- wants to be the man and went to his hometown school
Brown- doesn't like the spotlight and went to play with his good friend at Cal.
Swanigan- has family ties to Pursue

Those are just the latest ones. Others like Blakeney were not priorities of the staff at the time. If Murray chooses Oregon, he too will have a legit reason to make that choice. They have been in him the longest, family have ties to assistant, and close friend on the team.
I still think we get him though but that's just my opinion. My point is that this year is just different. I know many have said it over and over but its true, just look at each scenario for each recruit that we have "lost" this summer and all of them have a legit reason. If I'm missing somebody, please let me know. If we start losing recruits in our own backyard who we have been recruiting for a long time, then you can begin to worry about our recruiting. Until then, it is what it is and I promise, at this time next year, this will all be a distant memory.

Yes!! You are so very true. Some of us have tried multiple times to tell folks that they do have an imprint on these recruits and their friends and families. Whether we like it or not, our actions paints a picture of the BBN for others outside of our fan base. Although it is not an accurate portrayal, it is still imprinted on the minds of those people and when posters get on here and bash the player or his family for everything, it leaves a lasting impression. I'm sure it's not always a good impression with some of the folks on this board and how they like to pass out insults like candy. To say a kid is a media whore simply because they have UK in their top choices is ridiculous and absurd. I don't hear those same folks saying anything for most of our recruits going on ESPNU for their announcement. It's just silly butthurt and hypocritical.
I just wish they understood that they do impact these recruits and their families. I'm sure it's not the deciding factor but when these recruiting races are so tight, we want to have every advantage we can get in these recruiting battles. It could just be the point that tilts a decision one way or the other. So, yes! Be kind!

I have been hoping this entire time that Murray will choose Duke. Mainly, just to keep him out of Lexington. Also, just for kicks.
But, I don't want to see him in a cat jersey. Y'all will be scary.

I'll take a guess. Fitting duck? Farting duck? Flipping duck? Never mind.

LOL, that's true too but still we have to respect their decisions.

I would like for some to take a test to prove that, lol.
