"Source close to Jamal Murray says report that he will announce Tuesday is 'false.' No surprise given its origins. Exact date remains unclear"

Communication in this recruitment is all over the place.

This guy is the one stiring everything up. He needs to ask or find out about the tweet that proliferated this board

I can't figure out why his camp hasn't commented about the Cook thing. This is just weird and that Sonny guy doesn't seem to know crap.

[laughing] @ the gloom and doom debbie downers on this board.

If all that stuff was false could the Cook kid maybe have just been trolling people and joking around?Who knows.

Glad to hear that Dave. But I was referring to the truth about Jamal Murray.. It May be out there but I can not find it. back in the win 98 days I had a program that ran 50 or so search engines at one time.. Not sure that would help now..

Of course they're pushing it back, the two Oregon knuckleheads spoiled the announcement so they've got to do something to make it seem like it's still up in the air and that they're wavering in order to give his "signing special" more juice. That's only possible with UK still believed to be in the mix. Kentucky is the show, it's the program that brings the eyeballs and is the needle. No offense to the Ducks, but Oregon isn't a draw and never will be.

It sounds like it was never planned for Tuesday in the first place.Just like the guy was wrong about it being on ESPN.Seems like the guy is just making up stuff to get himself publicity.

You're probably right. I've just been burned so much by recruits playing UK every step of the way this spring that I wouldn't rule something like that out. I've reached the point where I only believe in the Murphy's law of college basketball recruiting.

Looking at Sonny Bairos twitter was interesting. He has 936 followers and all his Murray posts have an Oregon slant that it is the best school and fit for him and I just find that strange. Why would a random recruiting guy have a vested interest in which school he chooses?Of course local guys root for a favorite but I can't picture mainstream recruiting guys coming out and saying North Carolina is the right school for someone or something. It's like he's a Duck fan.Strange.I still think he's going to Oregon but it's just odd.

Told ya it wasn't over yet. The Murrays are saying everything we've ASSUMED is FALSE. The truth is out there, wish I knew how to find it. And preacher Tom, don't bother. I'm saved.

Dave you are a well liked basketball guru and I have loved to see you posting here recently! Stay around for a little while and we can have a few discussions.

The delay is either due to murray wanting to add suspense because the oreg dude stole his thunder with his tweet or Cal called and has JM thinking...lets hope its the latter.

OK. I am going to get myself banned maybe.
Why?
Because of a tint of myopia.....in other words.....UK or none other that permeates Kentucky fans.
I was in the home of Vince Carter many years ago. Without basketball, that family drowns in hopelessness.
I got to know Gerald Fitch a little. Without a mature mentor, he had the same probability of gang death that took his brother.
Tayshaun grew up in absolute awfulness in Compton. Basketball saved him and his family.
To hear epithets from UK fans that kids, or their parents, that they dance and spin the system, you know what? You don't even know.
Pay attention when Cal says he is changing lives. Go there, live it. You will hopefully change your tune.
The Murrays are not playing us. Damn.

Dave, it amazes me when fans say a player is an attention-whore just because they don't announce when the fans want them to. Let them at least start getting paid before you start the character assassination.

+1

So much Cal and UK could do for Murray, even in areas outside of basketball. Why would a family choose to not take advantage of that and for that matter say it is a tough decision between the two programs?

Kind of like us not understanding why bad things happen to good people and vice versa. Just beyond the realm of understanding, and it frustrates us.

Dave's right.

And I am guilty of it myself, in this very instance.

It's easy to get frustrated with this whole situation, but I shouldn't.

Each kid has to make the right choice for themselves and that might not be the one I want them to make.

So I apologize for questioning these players and their intentions. I don't know them.

But, man I don't understand the logic behind all these great players choosing other schools when they could go to UK.

Doesn't make sense for all of them to do it. One or two I could understand, but not all.

I wish these kids well, though, because they are just kids.

No option to like your post twice. I wish all could take Coach Cal's motivation as what it is. He is changing lives. I wish I could do that too. It's not about me.

Dave, do you think the Murrays are still juggling the decision? Lots of connections at Oregon, but wow, the track record that Cal has..............like going against the home state school.

I know Terrance Jones was able to overcome to comfort of where his boys were going.

If I'm Murray, and I'm serious about this game, all I'm going to consider is which coach can get the most out of me? Altman has 3 players that have gone pro, and he's taking on major transfers to try and make Oregon competitive. I believe that sexual lawsuit is still hanging over his head as well that caused 3 players to be dismissed.

It's only a few, thankfully. Am hoping Gerald will respond since he is local and listening. UK fans are the greatest. BUT. They get hurt, the players do. That's why they are prohibited from using social media (though they cheat that).
Hey Bret, help me out here.

You're fine. You're just getting caught up in the moment, like I have. At the end of the day though, we just need to step back and realize these are kids making these decisions. We just happen to be super fans. Hell, I'm 31 years old, and I just got on here for a Murray update at 11pm.

Make no mistake about it, I want Murray, but I can't wait for this recruiting class to be over with. I'm ready to move on to football for a while. Usually by now, we know who we've got coming in, and we're all in for for football. This recruiting class ruined that for me. Just let it die now already.

Our fanbase's biggest problem is that we are UK fans and we refuse to believe that any child, male or female would not want to come to school here. Actually kids and their families have a mind of their own and as we saw this year they do use it.

Take Rod Rhodes for instance. He was a sure thing. Right?
But he was also an under-liner. Meaning, he got hurt by public opinion. The line is like this. Over, you can shirk it off. Under, you can't. Rodrick had special skills that never really materialized, and the more he underperformed, the more he got hit in his noggin. It happens. Not everyone is born to perform, like a Lance Stephenson, an over the top assuredness. Cal, and every other UK coach I've known, see it quickly.
Believe it if ya want, but Terrance Jones was an under-liner. Coaches know, the public doesn't. So they, the coaches, play it.
I don't know Coach Calipari other than a few bumps at venues. I don't talk with him. Others? You decide.

fixed.

[cheers]

I just hope none of our over zealous fanbase sent bad tweets to Jamal when they thought it was 100% Oregon. I don't know why I would think that could happen. :(
