Makes Gilmore's return that much more important, imo. He should know the system having played under it last season. Coaches should have a good idea of what he's capable of and what he needs to improve. I would think he'll get snaps often and early to get him ready for the SEC grind. After spring showcase, sounded like the staff was focused on getting some more talent into the WR room, especially since a few were dinged up and didn't play the showcase. Gilmore is one. Edwards was presumed a second infusion of talent. I would think, if healthy, we've got enough SEC talent in that room (some may need to develop/step up a bit) to run the offense. May have to rely on true FR a bit more than we'd like, but it appears to me that the room is sufficiently populated assuming we don't have a rash of injuries, of course, which can happen to any team. Plus, we may incorporate TEs (I know, I know) and RBs out of the backfield a bit more than usual. If the OL holds up, I think we're OK as far as receivers. I'm sure the staff will be looking for one more now but I wouldn't grab just anyone.

Gilmore sort of fell back into their laps. After McGowan, they have about 3 more schollies left, one of which could go to Jaylon Stone or another DL. I still expect another receiver and another LB or DB but I don't know if they would take a senior. They need a couple more like Gilmore that can be around for more than a year.

I've read multiple articles that said the Pavia ruling only covers guys who began play at Juco in 2020 or after, as Pavia started in 2020. Edwards started in 2019, but the staff feels like he should get a waiver because he played 2019 and 2020 at Juco.

Hopefully we can pick up Tony Johnson. Had 48 receptions and 6 TD receptions for Cincy last season. He is a slot receiver and has gotten better and better every year.
