A question about shoe contracts ...

Under Armour offers Steph Curry shoes. Nike has a line of Lebron James shoes. I'm sure there are other examples of shoe companies offering player-specific lines of footwear.

My question ... What keeps universities such as UK from having their own line of shoes, too. Wouldn't you consider purchasing a new pair of Nike shoes that had "Kentucky" or "Wildcats" on them and were color correct?

Forgive my ignorance if this is already being done.

There are a very select few of LeBrons that were UK edition but I can't answer your question.

Good question. Probably because Nike would have to pay UK fees to put a K on there. They do make limited quantities of "UK" shoes but not sure they use UK logos on them. Just have custom blue/white colorways you can't normally get in that shoe model, like the players wear.
