How do you know he hasn't?

MANY program insiders and players were saying he was GONE to A&M. Heck, Vince even liked a post Larry Vaught put up on Twitter saying UK should hire HIM as the next HC.

Just hope our recruiting class and current players stay because they STILL "trust" him.

I have see no indication that stoops has lost the trust of anyone. I love marrow man. He’s a troll and I love it. If you really wanna guage the vibe then listen to Vince on the postgame show. He even admits how much he loves the noise and responding to it.

Believe what you want. I just know that there are DEFINITELY some "trust" issues going on right now. Hopefully they can be ironed out and we keep our program going on an upward trend.

With the Iowa job looming, Coach Stoops will have some work to do with that "trust" issue.

What are the trust issues? Coaches do this. They look at other jobs. Kentucky came within an eyelash of losing Cal to the cavs and then again to UCLA. Were there trust issues after that? This is a business. I’ve interviewed for jobs a few times and my bosses knew. Big deal. I’m still there and there were no trust issues. People are always going to be only as loyal as their options.

From reading their board they have been upset with Dan Lanning. I believe they contacted him and maybe he showed interest, don't know. But I think ATM felt good about him and fired Jimbo, thinking they could get him. Lanning has an unusual contract in that he has a % of Nike, his to keep if he fulfills his contract or is fired. But if he leaves for another job he forfeits the %. It would cost roughly 50m to hire Lanning unless he was willing to lose the 30m Nike deal. Lanning is a Bama guy, former GA there, he would crawl to Bama to be their coach.

Most likely. They wanted the coach to come from Day, Deboge or Lanning. They all said no. Supposedly the Arizona coach was told the job was his, until the AD went rogue and called Stoops and you decide if an off was made or interest show. When that happened the Arizona coach removed his name. The Arizona coach is who they wanted after first 3 said no. So they were left with Elko after the first 5 turned them down. And no ATM fans are not happy and want AD blood. Hard to believe they pony up 75m to fire Jimbo without their guy already on board.

Yes. Throwing away 75 M without having a home run hire in place was dumb. Maybe the AD, the board, and the money guys are at each other's throats and coaches around the country know it. Add a fan base that thinks it can call the shots and most coaches would shy away from that mess.

It is a typical rule in CFB that you hire the opposite of what you fired

Jimbo was an O guy. They tried to hire a D guy in Stoops then offered another D guy who accepted.

Miss St fired a D guy, hired an OC

Mich St fired a D guy, hired an offensive focused HC

I wouldn't be pleased if he were hired at UK.
