A good article but, who's listening? The NCAA? Doubtful. Fans can demand change and return college basketball to what it once was, a finesse game. Cut the shot clock to 30 seconds, move the 3 point line back and here's an idea...cut the number of time outs allotted down to 3 per half. When you include TV time outs, that's still potentially 6-7 clock stoppages for each team and that's plenty.
Another question. Why aren't college games played in quarters? High school and NBA both do it. Why not college?
Some other ideas...
6 fouls before player disqualification.
Reinstate the jump ball to reward teams for hustle and defense.
Eliminate the reset on back court, 10 second counts if a time out is called.
No more time outs to be called as a player is falling out of bounds or in a scramble on the floor (without clear possession).
The NCAA should hire all officials and make them employees, train them as a group and review their work, holding them accountable for their actions.
