Went to a bud’s house to watch the Mizzou game. The same bud who I have generally gone with one road game a year.
We usually d/n do bowl games together, but he takes his family of four and usually has high dollar seats for the bowl games.
I’d say he and his family have attended more than half of UK’s home games the last 10 years.
So during the game I mention that Coach Schlarman did not make the trip, and no one in the family has ever heard the name, or that he’s been battling cancer for two years.
When I left, one said, “that fellow who is sick not making the game sounds pretty important . . . maybe why that’s why the team looked so down.”
I said, “ yep.”
