Wondering what BBN thinks? 9 games means dropping one OOC game so most likely a tougher overall schedule and getting bowl eligible.

I favor keeping 8, as does the bottom half of the SEC (historically speaking).

Adding a 9th game is going to result in a lot of very good teams having bad records.

I prefer 9. 10 was fine in 2020. We had some tough breaks but could have went 6 and 4 instead of 4 and 6. Add in 2 ooc cupcakes and that's 8 and 4.

Had Ole Miss beat. Pretty cool how they moved the goal line back four yards before halftime @ Auburn that changed the complexion of that game.

Why UofL - even with a 9th SEC game there are still 2 other OOC "drop options" on UK's schedule.

I'm always interested in "why" some UK fans want to drop the UofL game...especially now.

Peace
It’d definitely hurt UofL. Especially if the SEC raids the ACC’s bigguns in the future. ACC would be a funny league without Clemson and others.

I don't get it rather. As a UGA fan I enjoy taking over Tech's stadium and embarrassing them every year. UK is in the s a me position with Louisville. If you really dislike yhem now is ghe time to crush them.

9 games is way better than 8. Eight game schedule (in a 1-7 model) sacrifices SEC rivalries. We can play 9, play UofL, play one G5 and one FCS team. It will be a ton of fun to replace one snoozer with an SEC game. Let’s play

No benefit for UK in playing UL..... we make more money playing another home game.

Things going the way they appear to be going there is going to be a big split in what is now NCSA football teams. The tea.s that end up in the 2 major conferences and the rest. Who knows what the rules will be as far as scheduling. My opinion is UK is past worrying about getting bowl eligible and if serious about reaching the playoffs play teams that will get voters attention. Yeah Bsma plays some crap teams. And get the benefit of the doubt every year, no one outside Ohio State gets that benefit.

Alabama usually always plays a decent OOC game to open the season. Starting in 2025 they’ll play two P5 teams for a decade…kinda like what your Doggies have done w/ ND/GT & Clemson/GT.

2025 will be a whole new deal, at least Texas and OU will be added, maybe more. Won't surprise me if those schedules are all torn up and rescheduled.

I'd be okay with a 9 game conf schedule as long as the 9th game is against an opponent who finished arond the same place in the standings as you did.

#1 plays #2 unless they already play, then #1 plays #3... Higher seed on the road. Give the lower seed a hyped home game

Not just for the divisions but for the entire SEC.

Ensure that Vandy plays whoever else is at the bottom every year, regardless of division.

UL has all to gain and we have all to lose. Plus, UL hate for us it is their number one priority every year. We don't need UL, they need us. Why help a school that hates us like no other? UK stupid to oblige.

That's not how it will work. You rotate your 6 non rivals every other year. You play the same 3 every year as rivals. This isn't the NFL where you finish last in the division and get the other 3 worst teams. That said, candy will get the 2nd worst team every other year as will everyone else.

That's how I understand it too. The big discussions will come from how the 3 perm rivals will be. ADs and presidents will have a major task.

I know thats how it isn't going to work...

I said that's the only way I would want to play a 9 game schedule.

The SEC won't want their big teams to smash each other 3 or 4 to times a season unless the playoffs are revamped.

I vote for 9. Give us games with Tennessee, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt and shake up the rest.

SEC should partner with another league, say the MAC or C-USA or Sun Belt, especially when the CFP expands. Each SEC school plays six SEC games and 4-5 MAC opponents per se, and 1-2 OOC power fives (to make up money but still easier tests than one or two more SEC league games). This ensures better records for SEC teams where the third, fourth, fifth best teams in SEC have a solid chance to reach CFP.

I think it'll be much more fun playing another SEC game vs playing a MAC opponent. The downside to that format is we'll be playing Bama, TX, OU, TX A&M, LSU and Auburn every other year on top of probably already having to play UT, UF and Ga every year. It's gonna be a killer schedule every year.

I think they will be fine. It will expand to 12 at least asap.

9 SEC, 13 game schedule overall. If your going to pay these guys, get your money's worth.

Never going to happen, but if like to go 8 conference 2 P5.
Is like scheduling a bowl game.
Add some variety.
Doesn't have to be a world beater.
Some close games fans could travel to.
West Virginia. Cincinnati. Illinois. Love to play Notre Dame at Notre Dame.
Every now and then Arizona State. Washington. BYU.
And then the absolute dream is USC in the Colisuem.

While it may be major, it ain't hard. Can do it sitting around card table knocking back shots.

Let's wait and see to decide if it is hard or not. Will you be happy if UK's rivals are Bama, UGA and UF? But would be thrilled with Vandy, Missouri and Carolina. All 16 ADs and presidents feel the same way, will be lots of give and take

I probably wouldn’t have said this a few years ago but now I really don’t think it would bother me much if we dropped the UL game. Sure it’s been fun beating the shit out of them lately but honestly with the direction college football is headed (mergers/ super conferences) I think it would be hilarious to see them butthurt over it. The ACC will likely be picked apart soon and UL will be one of the teams left out of all this.

Number 2 seed plays number 3 seed for the chance to play number 1 seed for the SEC Championship ????

Me being happy or not doesn't make it hard. Besides, if one school's perms are tough, then their other six will be easy by definition. Cuts both ways.

The revenue on home games is one of the major reasons why Kentucky (and the other SEC schools) would drop their out of conference rivalries. Right now, just about every SEC schools have 4 away SEC Games, 4 home SEC games, 3 Home Games and 1 game that either rotates or is played on a neutral site. Going to 9 changes that dynamic. Schools are not going to give up the guaranteed revenue of a home game just to keep some out of conference rivalry going. Add in the fact that the more the SEC could expand their inventory, the bigger the media contract is going to be.

Maybe we see something where two leagues partner on a guaranteed inventory of games for a media partner. Something like a Big 10/SEC showdown that happens every year that might make it worth giving up one of those home games. But if that happens, I doubt it locks teams into an annual rivalry.

We are about to head into a brand-new world of college sports. Kentucky ended the Bourbon Barrell. Unless the money makes sense, the Governor's cup will fade away as well.

If 9 is certain, keep Louisville but move it back to 1st weekend. We would be at a disadvantage playing them last weekend after going through 9 game SEC meat grinder.

Since SEC & ACC are completely owned by ESPN, make a deal with them guaranteeing the game prime time Sunday night every year of labor day weekend. It is a shame there isn't more CFB on that weekend on Sunday & Monday.

I'd add that we only play them at Kroger. They don't like it, tough.
