During Cal's tenure, we've been right there with EXTREME legit shots at a championship every year with the exception of 2013. That is pretty darn impressive at any level. Yes I wanted a couple of more championships, but I'm thankful for where we are, how we are right there each year and how exciting his tenure has been.

As someone who still cringes when I think about the Final Four drought under Tubby, the deluge of almosts and what-ifs, I appreciate the hell out of the Cal era.

It's right there with the '90s for me, and I never thought I'd say that. For Cal to truly be historic he'll need another title, but history can always be parsed out after the fact. Right now I'm having fun following this program, and so many times in the '98 to '09 era I couldn't say that.

I think that the quiet, sensible majority would agree with your thoughts on the subject.

Come on Jerry, listen to some of these folks, "even a caveman can do it." :)

It's amazing really. We were 3 made threes out of umpteen attempts away from a Final Four in his first year (would have likely won it all after that). We were a missed three that looked good all the way to the rim from going to the championship game in 2011 (we would've beaten Butler in the finale). We won it in 2012. 2013 was what it was. 2014, we should have beaten UConn for the title, and this year there's no reason why we didn't beat Wisconsin to play dook in the finale.

In hindsight, had we known this would be the outcome of hiring John Calipari; I mean if we knew EXACTLY that it would play out this way, we'd have taken it and been glad to actually matter again. We were in the conversation and/or had the opportunity to win 5 titles in 6 years. That's incredible coaching in this day and age.
