5:05

They will break their necks to get in front of the cameras and microphones if they are granted their appeal. Otherwise it could be tomorrow.......

It's always 5:05 in Crown City.

Sht man, why do this. Let's allow @zipp @KerryRhodes @Steelers2012 @rockycard to enjoy their last few moments pretending the banner is real.

Someone make a gif or something of Michigan playing no one during the title game. An asterisk over the Louisville heads will work.

If I were Kevin Ware I'd be pissed. Had he known what was Tibia his shin bone during that imaginary title game I'm sure he'd have sat out.

Somewhere back in Louisville I can hear the hobos rustling around near the dumpster. I sure hope they don't accidentally rekindle the fire.

So, we're supposed to definitively know about the banner today? I have lost track of time.

Is his whether their appeal will be heard or is this a final decision?
I believe this is the deadline for the NCAAs response to Louisville's written appeal. Louisville then has 14 days to respond, then NCAA has 10 days, then Louisville has 10 more days for a final response. After that, a hearing is set. I think this is correct.

My guess on the release time of the appeal info at the Bunny Ranch.
I am sure the NCAA met its deadline. I believe those crickets are Louisville's PR machine desperately trying to spin bad news. If the news was in their favor, it would have been in the media by now.

I don't get why there are so many responses.

To me it should go like this:

NCAA COI - UofL you're repugnant, you must vacate many games cause you cheated by coercing high school kids into have sex with prostitutes , and you gave prostitutes to your players

UofL Appeal - but the prostitutes didn't cost much

NCAA Appeals committee - UofL you just don't get how disgusting you are, you did the crime, now man up and accept your penalty

The end

Then after UofL responds. The NCAA has 5 years to respond. Then they will give UL 2 months to respond. Then the NCAA will conduct another investigation, then Uofl will get to respond to that. I feel like this is what's going to happen. Does it ever end?

Nope....

@zipp stop on any Louisville street corner and score some good.

Really there shouldn't be an appeals process. There should be a standard set of guidelines and a ruling should be met based on those guidelines agreed upon by the NCAA and institutions. But since the NCAA has favorites they must have a system in place to "interpret" the rules as they choose at the time.

Cal = strict liability.

Coach K = No liability.

So double secret probation should start by around Thanksgiving.

I hope we start the week off with good news that the sewer school has lost their appeal!! And they have five days to return all the stuff that belongs to the NCAA !!

It is amazing how many people still don't know how this process works. Friday was simply the NCAA's response to Louisville's appellate brief. Louisville gets another response, and then the NCAA gets another response. And then a hearing. This won't be over until next month at the earliest. Nevertheless, reading the NCAA's response will be interesting.

Will there be a hearing? like with both parties there? Or will the appeal committee just meet, discuss the appeal, and render a decision?

Louisville requested a hearing, so there will almost assuredly be a hearing sometime next month, after which the Appeals Committee will make its ruling by majority vote.

Just give them until right after lunch.

I thought I had read a while back that UL was pissed because they didn't get to have a joint hearing. Never did hear an official word though or see any follow up information.

If it's bad news, they'll release it late on a Friday night. That's how the sleazy Clinton administration released news that made them look bad. And we all know that sleazy, trash like the Clintons, Pitino, and Tom Jurich reads from the same playbook.

You left out Petrino.

And the entire UNC administration.

You want to talk about how bad a scandal has been investigated? Look no further than Chapel Hill, where inmates continue to get extra benefits while the scandal gets looked into.

You want to shut down the cheating? Put these schools on probation immediately with zero postseason $$ until the case is resolved. Then we'll see administrative action and birds singing.

Oh, and the UL basketball program is at the bottom of what a representative of NCAA sports is about. Time to pay for your past indiscretions Rick.

Sounds like job security for lawyers .

The card chronicles is a blog for so many who are in denial. They cover all angles about how to get out of the crooked ways that program operates. Some think the $$ is justification for less punishment (meaning don't touch the 2 year period we wish to remember) and those that say why do we have to be made an example of instead of UNC?

It is hilarious to attach your name to such a ridiculous argument that you are being targeted for the acts that go on and hiring an assistant coach who spent less than $10K shouldn't make this a harsh end result.

Thought I'd show you an example:
"The university has suffered severe penalties, including a postseason ban, without a single game being vacated. If there is any rationality to the NCAA’s appeals process, virtually all of the victories from 2011-15 will stand"

I also laugh at the Courier Journal who shows no objectivity either way by their writers so they won't be banned from future interviews by the grand poobah. Ah, gotta love journalists that don't espouse any opinion.
