4pt play.

Yeah but he jumped forward and landed within the 3 point line. His “landing space” was behind him! There should be no expectation of room to land if you jump forward. The defender has the right to that space.
It will be called every time if defender has contact on shooters landing. It does not require the shooter to so straight up or backwards. It is a foul if defender has contact as shooter is landing. No reason to stay pissed when the official was dead right. Learn the rule rather than bitch and cry crooked sorry, cheating refs.

Been talking about this for a few days now.

You have to coach to how they are calling it.

By rule you cant move into a players space that he jumped from. Thats not the problem.

Even if you're close to the shooter and jump straight up and the shooter flops or kicks legs out...they'll fall for it. Almost every single time, they fall for it more than they call the foul if the shooters hand is actually hit.

As much as they get up on Brea, he should just fall down every time.
True, thought there was at least two, maybe three time last night where they actually fouled us shooting a three. Was thinking maybe we should exaggerate it more and maybe we’d get the call.

A shooter has to be able to land and not have contact with defender. His landing space was blocked. It was a foul and will be 90% of the time when a shooter is not given space to land. The 10% that it is not called is a ref error. That is the rule.
Nah, you must be watching other games, but even those are laden with fouls called with NO CONTACT at all. Yes, the shooter has to have room to land without being touched, but I'm talking about 5 or 6 calls per game when no contact occurs before, during or after the shot. If that weren't the rule, no one would ever go for a blocked shot. AD, Wilt, Shaq, Russell etc went for blocks all the time and were not called unless they made contact with the shooter and not just the ball. That's what I'm pissed off about - anticipated or maybe just plain corrupt fouls by some refs.

You are right that they have not all been bad calls. However, too many of them have been.

By comparison, Oweh had a 3pt shot during the game when he didn't really have room to land either. He spread his feet and landed against the MSU defender. I don't want the UK players going to the ground, but they may HAVE to if that's the only way the official will call it.

My preference would be just to quit calling the flop that shooters are doing.
OWEH also got hit on the wrist on a 3 point shot that was 4 feet short. No call.
Our players don’t complain much but he went straight to the officials even though it was a live ball then sprinted back.
