47 free throw attempts 2nd most for Kansas in 20 years

Sure is a lot of free throws,sometimes I wish we could get a whistle like that,but then I really don't. I want to see a game where it is called the same no matter if is 2 minutes into the game or the last 10 seconds of the game.
It's pretty sad that I think players calling their own fouls would work better than officials.
Stop calling fouls that do not impact the play at all. Stop calling touch fouls. No one would call that crap in pick-up games.
I have been so turned off with basketball the past few years with the way officiating is across the board. It's just awful and too easily influenced by officials. People act like Tim Donaghy was one rogue official. That guy is one of many like his kind.

Kansas had 47 ft attempts. UK had 46 field goal attempts.
No wonder nobody outside of kentucky, kansas, indiana and a 10 square miles area in north carolina watch this crap until march. If the ncaa allows this shit to continue, cbb will die an uncermonious death in the next 20 years.

Watched the game with some UT Longhorn fans....they said before the game "you're going in out numbered on the floor" and if it's a tight game NO KU player will be in foul trouble at the end of the game that would hurt KU's chances.
Second half every time they got the ball I said to myself another foul going to be called on us. I was right probably about 85% of the time it seemed. All of that help from the refs and they barely pull it off. Who wants to see a game of refs blowing whistles most of the time? I know Sirmons should have been gone long ago. The other two must be pretty lousy also.
It's bc officials at the nba level understand not to get caught up in nonsense...they in fact understand what freedom of movement is, which let's players win games by scoring. They don't make calls on things that don't impact the play. College bball refs are the equivalent of a football referee calling a hold on every play.
A perfect example of this was a foul call on marcus lee. He played vertical, the player shot, play was finished...then he brought his arms down and was called for a foul. It had no effect on the play...all the official saw and made the call on was that he brought his arms down. If it would have affected the shot then it would have been a foul...but it didnt.
The last Willis foul was another one. Awful.
The BS calls will only make Kansas' demise in March that much sweeter.

We watched the game. UK was well on their way to getting just as many calls until Self switched up the Ku defense and UK couldn't get to the inside any more. Then Uk was stuck just shooting jumpers and didn't create any more contact.
UK bigs foul a ton. They have all season. KU made a concerted effort to drive at you and the KU crowd was loud enough that UK defense could not communicate. That forced them to be slow to respond and put them in position where all they had left was to foul.
Both teams had a few BS calls called against them. That happens in every college basketball game ever.
More bullshit, we drove the ball plenty even after the switching of your defense. Ulis got drilled by Frank " I jump into the defender to create contact" Mason when the ball was jarred loose and he hit a huge 3.

It goes both ways. We as fans see what we want to see. Here's a nice no call on Lee's grab to Greene's junk in the first half. UK gets a ton of no calls on block attempts where they go up for the block with one hand and push the shooter with the other. The refs are watching up top and miss the bottom hand all the time.
Okay. Most shots in the paint are going to have some kind of contact. Like that ^^^ one, it's reflexive-- keeping the shooter from landing on/into you, for one thing. The point is that it could be called all of the time, and it's noticeable when the whistle only seems to get blown on one end of the court.

Any Kansas fan here to defend a game in which your team shot more free throws than it has in 20 years, against a team of equal ability and talent, you should just forget it. What we saw last night was indefensible. Those referees should be reprimanded. It was ridiculous. Every time down the floor, it was either a made shot or a trip to the line for Kansas. But not at the other end. Yes, UK fouled but so did Kansas, yet less than half as many calls. UK had to earn every point. KU got freebies all night. It's not hard to see if you have eyes. The number's don't lie.
