43 total bowl games. 125 division 1 teams

Six classes for our state’s population is an absolute joke. Having 32 teams for a playoff in each class is a giant waste of time. It’s the same exact teams every year.

Consolidate some of these classes and get back to four divisions.
Makes too much sense.

Just to compare….

The 1977 UK team wasn’t bowl eligible but I went back to that season to see how the cf world operated.

UK’s non conference schedule:
@Baylor, NC, WVU, @Penn St, VaTech

Only 13 bowl games and no mac teams to pad wins with. Only 2 SEC teams got in bowls, bama and lsu who were both top 20. UK would have if eligible. To compare current bowl streaks and regular season win targets to anything historically would be absurd
Yeah - it's hilarious when the Stoops dingle berries try to compare what he's accomplished to past generations. He's done well but has had so many more advantages.

No one is making anyone watch the bowl games. Personally, I love college football and enjoy watching most games. I don’t look at the cats making the Liberty Bowl as an accomplishment. I see it as one more time to watch my team play a sport I love watching before boring azz baseball and golf take over the television

If you’ve been a fan over 6 years, you would understand, LOL
I’ve been a fan for a lot longer than 6 years. But, I understand the game has changed and making a bowl isn’t an accomplishment anymore.

Now that we’re able to play 3 stinky teams, making a bowl comes down to winning 3 games.

All the Bowls are boring ass as well other than the ones between the really good teams and the playoff.

There is also a ton more on TV year around than sports.

Who cares if every team goes to a bowl? Bowls are simply meaningless exhibition games but they add entertainment for people wanting to watch football, and they extend the season for teams, and reward them with a trip. I enjoy watching bowls and wagering on the outcome.

The only bowls that have true relevance in defining the best team is the championship series.
Rewarded with a trip to Birmingham, Memphis, Detroit, Shreveport, or Mobile hardly seems like a reward

Past 15 years, I've seen kentucky play Florida State, Clemson, Pittsburgh, Georgia tech, Iowa, Penn state, NC state, Virginia tech. That doesn't happen without a proliferation if bowl games. These money grubby profit over everything ads aren't going to diversify or schedule.

Never once bothered and wished it didn't happen. Just these miserable sobs who complain about everything.

This is a BS argument. “If you don’t agree with me you’re not a real fan.” Watching a bunch of shitty 6-6 and 7-5 teams play in a meaningless bowl game that has no impact on any championship or prestige is not the measuring stick. They’re bad and mediocre teams. Glad they enjoy them but I’d prefer to watch the better teams play.

It’s the NIT for football simply cause a sponsor pays for it. That’s it.
Understand where you’re coming from but just don’t watch. I’d rather watch South Dakota state vs Montana than A Christmas Story for the third time. You do that, I’ll watch football.
