In fact, Cal may step down, but he will still be collecting a million a year from UK to be an ambassador. He won’t be the coach, but he won’t be far. One of the many ridiculous things Mitch built into his contract.

It would take a full fledged idiot to let Cal have any input on the next coach. He would deliver Tony Barbee. Screw that.

BCG worked under a shortsighted (by Mitch) MOU for his entire time here. It was so vague that it gave him no incentive to sign a real contact with ethics or performance clauses.

I want to think a HUGE problem is undependable play from the wings, which Edwards should solve next year but who knows. Ugly stat for sure. My biggest hope is that when Cal does leave, he sets us up with a home run hire. I would think he would given his set up, post-coaching career.

I hope Cal isn’t involved in the hire at all bc I want a style that is polar opposite to Cals offensive concepts. Hard to see him looking at a guy who runs effective 4 or 5 out sets and choosing that over a coach who wants bigger lineups and emphasis of defense to the point of detriment on offensive lineups.

He’s also so ego driven I couldn’t imagine him hiring a guy that fits the style and philosophy much of the fanbase has clamored for bc if it is Uber successful it makes him look worse. My opinion is he’s prefer to be “missed” and the next guy be a bust
