Here's the least surprising observation of the year: Kentucky's FIVE LOWEST PERCENTAGE 3-POINT GAMES since December 1 are: Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas and Auburn...Those games are the only ones in that period, aside from Gonzaga, where the Cats shot under 30 percent from 3...

Outside of Auburn, those are all games Kentucky probably wins if the 3-point percentage is even within five points of the yearly average of 37.3 percent.

That actually strikes me as a hopeful statistic heading into March. Those dud games have a simple solution: Just don't go into a 3-point slump.

It will be extremely challenging to shoot our average, if not better, for six (6) straight games in March, but anything is possible!
After all, we shot 50% from three in both Tennessee games !!!

Yeah, and even shooting the 3-point season average of 37 percent is no guarantee of a win: Alabama 1 and Vanderbilt 1 and Arkansas were all games where the Cats shot better than average from 3 and lost -- but I think those were also games without Butler...So the formula may be Butler handling the ball and creating BETTER shots AND hitting the shots that he creates... basically, Kentucky is looking to put together a streak where the Cats shoot 3s like they did against Louisville, Duke, Florida, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Tennessee...

I agree ... not shooting well from beyond the arc puts additional stress on our need to rebound and defend, it seems to me.

Especially with the guy who made the second most even still after missing a bunch of games is out.

When I look at the numbers I still feel like we're not taking enough 3s. With our teams makeup I feel like the only shots should be 3s, Amari inside, Oweh and Carr at the rim.

No BG backing guys down, no long 2s and guys that struggle to finish at the rim make the pass unless it's wide open.
