Lunardi isn't perfect, but I was interested in looking at our season....this is the toughest schedule in Kentucky history. The toughest schedule with likely our least talented roster in over a decade...a roster that never played together. A roster that's had more major injuries too...
@David Sisk could put it in fancier basketball words and junk for us common folk like me and @Col. Angus
Per Lunardi: Our losses are...
-Ohio State #9 seed
-Vanderbilt #10 seed
-Texas #11 seed
-Arkansas #11 seed
-Georgia #11 seed
-Clemson #7 seed
-Alabama #1 seed
-Ole Miss #5 seed
Every single loss is to a tournament team. Think about that, you can call some of our losses bad....but honestly you can make the case that none of them are bad losses. We're playing so many tournament teams....even if some don't make it....we can still say all of our losses are to bubble or tournament teams...
Look at our top wins...
-Duke #1 Seed
-Florida #1 Seed
-Texas A&M #2 Seed
-Tennessee #2 Seed
-Tennessee #2 Seed
-Louisville #7 Seed
-Miss State #8 Seed
-Gonzaga #8 Seed
-Lipscomb #13 Seed
5 wins over #1 and #2 seeds....wow. I really don't think people are understanding how tough this schedule is and we're doing it against great teams. 17 of our 25 games have been against tournament teams (or tournament caliber teams).
And still to come??
-Vanderbilt #10 Seed
-Alabama #1 Seed
-Oklahoma #10 Seed
-Auburn #1 Seed
-Missouri #6 Seed
We'll end the season with 22 of our 31 games against teams that are tournament caliber teams....so when you get mad and frustrated....factor in that we're playing the toughest schedule we've EVER played and doing it without our best players. When you go on about the standard at Kentucky and all that.... remember that Rupp, Hall, Sutton, Rick, Tubby, and CAL never had to play a schedule this tough....Pope is playing a schedule this tough with a roster he pulled together at the last minute and is dealing with 4 major injuries to rotation players.
