Florida game is the one to make profit for ticket scalping. Thanks for the 4-0 start!

I really wish we were not so soft to start the season, we are going to need that bye week desperately! We won’t know anything about this team until week 5 next season….should be an easy 4-0 start to the season though

We find a QB I think 8-4 or 9-3 in what some would consider a rebuild year. I’m not sure UF will be any better than they are this year. UT/Miss St are the pivotal games (as they are this year). A win against Bama or UGA very unlikely. I think worst case would be 7-5 and if thats considered a down year then our program is finally starting to arrive.

Once again, no Florida in November but they move South Carolina down there for the first time I can ever remember. It’s been over 35 years since the Gators came to Lexington when it’s cold. I guess Mitch just isn’t ever going to get that done just ONE FREAKIN TIME!!!

Also, this has to be the earliest we have ever played Vandy.

Why start with all 3 non conference cupcakes? Be nice to play one later in season as a quasi bye week.
Stoops just has to start winning after bye weeks. That’s all there is to it. Man has already done wonders at UK. Now beating UT at home and winning after a bye week are the best steps. And look at that, they’re both the same week.

Might be a good year to have the 3 OOC games to start the season, then Vandy. We’ll be rebuilding, especially the heart of the D - the LBs
Defense will be well positioned next year. We return everyone on the line, assuming no transfers or early entrants. We return nearly the entire secondary and get Vito back. It does hurt losing our interior LBs but their replacements, Wallace in particular, have potentially even higher upside as they get more experience. The offense will also be in great shape at all positions except for QB and No. 1 RB, so that's where the rebuild will need to happen.

Not saying a win but... if we find a qb.. bama is going to have a tough time if we can get a nice kentucky early bitter cold day.

I hope so. I agree the young LBs have a lot of talent. I just feel there will be a noticeable drop-off. Square, Jones and Wright are not only talented, but are 5/6 year guys. The ILBs are true QB’s of the D in every sense of the word. Won’t be easy to replace their skill, experience and leadership. I think we have the foundation to be a historically good (7-9 wins) UK team. I’ll have to see what we do in the portal to feel confident about being great. This is the year IMO.

I don't think ul will catch us by next year but they have to look at that schedule and smile. We have 6 tough games in 7 weeks before their annual beat down. Even that scar game looks tougher placed there.

Agree with you that we need to make Florida come up here in the cold again.

We did play Vandy in September 2014 at Commonwealth. I specifically remember showing up late to that game because my dad was delayed getting into town, and it was fairly warm that day.

He’d better start this year since we play them in Knoxville following our bye week.

Two home games and I've seen 2 scalpers.
I made $213 off of just four tickets in row 27 at the top on press box side for South Carolina game. $206 (fees included, $45 face value before UK raised it to $60) total for four tickets, sold for $420 on Ticketmaster.

I'm not really worried about the LBs we're losing because the ones behind them have shown flashes of greatness this season already.

If we have a good QB, next year isn't a terrible schedule. We will still have Brown and Key, the O-Line will have a year under their belts to gel and get better and hopefully Goodwin will be ready to step up and take Horsey's spot, Wright and McClain and maybe a freshman or transfer will come in and make noise to compete with them will have another year of development and maybe a freshman or transfer will come in and make noise to compete with them, our secondary should only get better, so if we have a QB that can get the playmakers the ball, we shouldn't drop off much if at all. No need to get all doom and gloom about the schedule.

Only thing I wish we could change is flip flop the week we play Bama with South Carolina. I'd love for Bama to be looking past us to the Iron Bowl.

Very well could (and maybe should) start 5-0 next season. The last half of the schedule is brutal though. Could go from a really fun start to an unfun finish quickly.

Georgia Away--Missouri Home--Tennessee Home--Miss. State Away--Alabama Home....just a brutal run of games. Such is life in the SEC, but that run of games would break most teams. I think we're gonna compete and win some of those don't get me wrong, but that will be tough. I sure hope we get a good transfer QB1 lol.

SEC office told us to cancel the season opener against OU, that has been scheduled for several years. We picked up Tennessee Martin, not very exciting

Gators, Dawgs, and Vols 3 out 4 weeks. Whew. SEC just tries you all the time.

Thoughts:

-Perfect schedule for a fast start...doesn't get much easier in the SEC to get a 4-0 start.
-Really love playing Florida at home after 4-0 start.
-Would prefer to have South carolina in week 2 and one of the patsies the week before UL.
-Brutal finishing kick, yikes.
-We own Mizzou, USC, but they are NOT In ideal spots for this trend to continue in 2023.
-Is there a better home slate of season ticket games anywhere that includes name teams like UF, UT, and Bama?
-Love that we play UT off of the bye and they play A&M and Bama the two weeks prior.

It was always going to be tough swapping in Bama, but my only real complaint is not splitting up the cupcakes a bit and playing one of the other SEC teams in week 2 or week 3. Even mizzou would have made sense to play them at home before vandy.

SEC isn't going to get any easier. You can just about bank on a UK trip to either Oklahoma or Texas their first year in the league.
I'm actually excited about getting Bama on Senior Day. What a awesome opportunity to make a real statement in your final game in blue in front of the home crowd. It's why these guys signed to play at UK!
GO CATS!

Not all teams have thsi kind of stretch...mnay other teams put a non conference cupcake in the middle of Oct/Nov....but we start with them all...sort of dumb
