2019 Guard Duo - best in high school?

Yeah, Cal has been on them for some times. They are both beasts. Both top 10 guys.

2018 is going to be the critical transition year in the UK vs. Duke recruiting battle, because the word is Cal is going to own 2019 - and beyond probably. I'm sure it has nothing to do with K ceding his role as US Olympics coach.

We need to nab at least two of the Bagley, Zion, Langford, Reddish group of superstars in 2018.

i think we land 3 of those 4

Looks like they will both be 19 when they graduate. Wonder if either will move up?

BAGLEY!

I think we get Williamson and Bagley.

Both are beasts.

Those two will lead a veteran (by UK standards) team. Quickley is probably the PG. The rest of the team will be mainly returnees.

Like to see a starting lineup something like:

Quickley
Johnson
Williamson
Bagley
Washington or Richards

Should have some great experience and depth on the bench to go with it.

Look great. We are going to have 8-9 new players. Not all of them will go pro so we'll have some returning players and possibly a better year in 2018-19.

I just can't see Zion and Bagley both here. Cal hasn't gotten two alpha elites in the same class since Wall and Cousins and Davis/MKG.

He hasn't because K temporarily interceded with his Team USA coach advantage. Cal was in on Tatum and Giles earlier than anyone, but K won out. He's now no longer the Olympics coach, plus he had a OAD crash and burn of epic proportions this year that is going dog them until K finally retires, or drops dead.

I'm talking the very best of the best. Like 2 of the top 3-4 players in the class. Fox and Monk were great but I don't view them the same as Wall/Cousins.

I think they are 2 of the top 4. Might put Jackson and Fultz ahead, but that's it.

agreed

we are likely to get 2 of these 3 but possibly all 3:

Bagley PF
Naz Reid PF
Moses Brown center

The SF we get from that class will very likely be Khavon Moore
PG Quickley but I know Cal also likes Javonte Smart

The 2 biggest recruiting battles in that class are likely going to be Williamson and Langford

Reddish will be a pukie

Good players but nothing that exceeds what we have become accustomed to since Cal got here. I watched them once and saw complete players. Biggest advantage would be to land both so you have the benefit of a backcourt that's already played together for years.

Reddish and Langford are likely Duke bound.

We have a good shot at Bagley and Williamson.

We get those two and we will be very good in 18-19, regardless of who else Cal gets. Those guys can carry a team.

YES

if we had those two......feeding Koprivica and very possibly Charles Bassey (PF) down low

fuggedaboutit

I think Miller at IU is going to have a good shot at Langford, especially if they have a good season next year.

Pretty sure Randle and both Harrisons were all in the top 6 coming out of high school, with James Young in the top 10 as well.

That's not the same. I'm talking 2 of the top 3-4 clear cut best players in the class. The types that make a legit claim as being the best in their class. It's extremely rare that two of those types go to the same place. Cal has done it twice but both of those were unique situations.

The only other time I can think of off the top of my head that it happened was with Giles and Tatum at Duke. Even then though, Giles spent a good chunk of his high school career hurt.

It would have been like getting Randle and Wiggins at the same school.

Obviously it's impossible to know for sure, but it seems like at least a couple guys from the current class will be returning for their sophomore campaign. Assuming this happens, we don't need to have all top tier players from the 2018 class.....just a couple and then some other quality players......to make a title run......

Bagley, Quickley are the two who most appear to be Kentucky-bound right now. Add Naz and Moore to a returning Richards and maybe Quade........Shai and Baker

We're in really good shape.
