2018 - Bol Bol (update: UK offers)

What does this even mean?? What the heck does Kansas have to do with it? We're talking UK recruiting.

I'm just basing on what I've read...remember seeing his name pop up a few years back and was interested in reading more because of his dad. One article talked about some games where he'd refused to go in at the end of a blowout with the other "scrubs" (whatever is the HS equivalent of walk-one). He was late to practices a lot et . Coach was quoted as simply saying he has work to do on his attitude.

He's no choir boy like Josh Jackson, but I think we can manage.

I brought it up because I'm fairly certain you're a Kansas fan.

I've heard the character issues thing before so I hope it's just past issues with attitude and work ethic, because the word is now the kid is working hard and has a great motor. Sounds like a young man that may have grown up and matured and realized the incredible opportunity available to him.

Also, considering Cal's pitch, I can't imagine a kid coming here that wasn't ready to work his azz off.

Saw some talent. Saw some height. Saw some length. Didn't see a lot of energy from the kid.

Seems like a good enough shooter, but the the mechanics of that shot concern me. It's not that it's a real ugly unorthodox shot, but it seems a bit slow. I feel like at the P5 college level he would have trouble with dudes up in his chest going at him.

Can't quite tell if he's dominating because he's 7'1 and simply taller and longer than most high school kids, or because he's the real deal.

I've read that moving out west was the best thing he's done and he really matured and it's shown in his improvements

At 7'1" he's going to be taller than most college kids and NBA guys as well.

I'm really liking the situation we are in for getting two of Bol, Bagley, or Brown.

All three guys have been coveting those UK/Duke offers. Rumor is Duke has been holding off on Bol because of grades, but the reality is they would forget all about that if they miss on other targets, but that may be too late to get in on Bol. Cal isn't messing around and has offered and UK is the early leader.

Moses Brown is a kid that really liked Duke early, but Cal jumped in, offered, and really wowed him and the family, and the family has been somewhat put off by Duke slow playing them. Cal has really played this recruitment well.

That leaves Bagley, probably the best of the guys mentioned above, and Cal so far is just perfectly playing the middle on him as it's still up in the air as to whether he'll even play college ball next year.

Regardless, UK seems to perfectly positioned as No. 1 or 2 for all these guys. Wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of them commit early to lock up their spot.

Interesting prospect. Bol has the arms of Shagari. He is a guy I would like to see come to campus early in the summer before his freshman year to take full advantage of the Kentucky strength and conditioning program.
