2018 - Bol Bol (update: UK offers)

Always figured he'd wind up at KU since he started school in that state.

He said something to the effect that he transferred out of state to get away from the pressure to stay in state, so sounds like Kansas is actually not in a particularly strong position. Sounds like he's wide open. Hope we get involved with him - sounds like he has really looked good recently.

Love that name though! I remember Oklahoma had a big man named "Longar Longar" once upon a time. Even got signed by the Oklahoma City Thunder at one point. Rest in Peace Manute!

We are going to get a very good big next year. One of Moses Brown Naz Reid and Bol Bol will be ours.

This 2018 class is just stacked with 4/5s. A kid like Shareef O'Neal is seen as losing out, and he's very good. Bagley, Zion, Reid, Jordan Brown, Moses Brown, Bol, Gordon--crazy deep with big guys.

A little weak at guard, which is where Cal is brilliant to have guys like Quade, SGA and Baker who should be back.

yeah Cal has been spot on with passing on the kids he has...basically all the top players ku has gotten.

The young man certainly seems to have a solid perimeter game coupled with interior offensive/defensive skills, but I am assuming a lot will depend on who stays/goes following this season.

Analysts already predicting Kentucky for Bol Bol

It didn’t take long for UK to emerge as the possible favorite for class of 2018 power forward Bol Bol.

Kentucky Coach John Calipari extended a scholarship offer to Bol — the son of former NBA player Manute Bol — on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, 247Sports recruiting analysts Andrew Slater and Jerry Meyer had already logged pro-UK predictions on Bol’s Crystal Ball page.

Slater and Meyer are the two top-ranked Crystal Ball prognosticators.

Bol — a 7-foot-1, 225-pound prospect playing for Mater Dei (Calif.) — is averaging 25.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots per game on the Nike circuit so far this spring.

247Sports ranks him as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2018. Kansas, UCLA, Arizona and Oregon are among the other schools that have extended scholarship offers.

Because he wanted to get the hell out of Kansas???
What does this even mean?? What the heck does Kansas have to do with it? We're talking UK recruiting.

I'm just basing on what I've read...remember seeing his name pop up a few years back and was interested in reading more because of his dad. One article talked about some games where he'd refused to go in at the end of a blowout with the other "scrubs" (whatever is the HS equivalent of walk-one). He was late to practices a lot et . Coach was quoted as simply saying he has work to do on his attitude.

Has Cal taken anyone with these issues before?
