The way things are shaping up for UKs roster, I could easily see a team with a lot to prove and a chip on their shoulder.. Let me explain what I mean..
#1) Tyler Ulis... Always playing with that "He's too small" monkey on his back..
#2) Marcus Lee... Finally getting that chance to earn more quality minutes and prove his worth..
#3) Alex Poythress... Last chance to prove he's an NBA caliber talent..
#4) Dominique Hawkins... Desperately wants that chance to show he was a legit Mr Basketball..
#5) Derick Willis... Finally committed to the gym and showcasing his ability..
#6) Mychal Mulder... A 2nd chance to play at the highest level and plenty to prove..
#7) Mike Thorne... A skilled big getting a fresh start at the highest level to possibly boost his NBA stock..
#8) Charles Matthews... A guy who's stock has declined despite an outstanding Sr seasons gotta rub him the wrong way,,
#9) Skai Labissiere... Chance to prove he's the #1 NBA draft selection in 2016 and lead team to a title..
#10) Isiah Briscoe... A young, but, confident floor leader that'll have to be on his game to earn his minutes..
Think about it.. Each of these players in their own way, have a lot to prove and this year is where the rubber meets the road and the opportunity is their for all of them.. From everything I've read and heard about the newcomers, they're all really good kids and have that team 1st mentality and just want to win.. Very few egos in that bunch.. We all know the returnees are great teammates and brings their lunch buckets to the gym everyday.. Granted, I'm a glass half full type of guy, but, I truly could see this team having some great chemistry and doing some special things.. Maybe not the most talented Cal team, but, still a ton of talent and 5 MCD AAs.. How many other teams out there will have more? Not many, if any.. So, let's not sell this team short just yet.. They may vey well surprise us all..
