2 seed committee

Kentucky has 6 quad 1 wins and all 6 are quad 1 A wins the highest quality win you can get.

Auburn has only 1 quad 1 win total it is beyond me how many people still have Auburn over Kentucky (usually both are 4 seeds but Auburn higher)

Makes no sense then add in WE BEAT THEM ON THEIR FLOOR

I get H2H is only 1 game but come on. This is the biggest no brainer in the history of the world we belong over Auburn

That FN clown Palm had us as a 5 and Auburn as a 4

What would it take to get a 2 seed in the big dance at this point?

SEC championship game is useless so is just getting there enough? Do we need other teams to lose?
We win the SEC-T, which likely means wins over 2 of (UT, Auburn,Alabama, although possible Florida or Miss St upsets one of them), then I think we have to be a 2 seed. Even if we must make it to the SEC-T final (which we know from the past the committee barely considers the winner of that game), I think we have a decent chance depending on other tournys.

1's are UConn, Houston, Purdue.
The last 1 and 2's are UT, Arizona, and if they don't OAD their conf-tourny UNC & Iowa St.
That leaves the last 2 open, with several teams having a shot:
- UK if win SEC-T or if make it to final and none of the following win their tourny
- Marq or Creighton if win BE-T over UConn
- Duke if win ACC-T over UNC (although I don't think they have enough Q1 wins)
- Baylor if win B12-T over Houston & Iowa St
- S.Carolina or Auburn or Alabama if win SEC-T

Assuming Duke loses they should 100% be behind us.

Lost to UNC twice and the last ranked team they even PLAYED was Baylor on December 20th.

Imo for Duke to get a e seed or better, they has to win tonight. Losing to UNC today should put them on a 4 seed or worse..

Eye test is a 2.

Bad losses will cap UK at a 3 seed, IMO.
Most other teams up for that last 2 have bad loss(es).
- Marquette lost at home to Butler
- Duke lost at Arkansas, at Georgia Tech, and at home to Pitt
- Creighton lost at home to Butler
- Kansas lost at UCF and at WV
- Auburn lost to App St

No team (outside those top 7) has as many top-level Quad 1 wins as UK (at Auburn, at UT, UNC, Alabama) except Kansas (who just lost by 30 today).
I'm not saying we are a 2-seed NOW, but make it to the SEC-T final, and then yeah we probably are; win it and then yes we absolutely should be.

Do not be shocked if we are still a 4 matched up with UCONN in the East. Or a 4 with Purdue. I don’t look for any favors from the committee

Outcome of the SECT final has not mattered. Bracket is usually done by then barring a team needing to win it to qualify. Committee tells us this every year.

Auburn isn’t good outside of home court….we not only have 4 Net Top 10 wins but 2 are on the road. This team plays better on the road than at home.

When the thread was made, I thought we had a chance.

I think we're our 2 seed dream is on life support now. If we're at 12, and want to get to 8, we have to jump 4 teams. The teams in front of us:

Given Arizona's surprising loss to USC, I think a 1st round loss in their conference tournament could actually drop them to the 3 seed line.

Creighton, Baylor, Duke, Iowa State, Marquette, Arizona. I'm going to include Kansas as Lunardi has them as the 13th team.

One of the biggest issues is the Big 12 Tournament bracket. Kansas and Baylor will meet in the quarterfinals. Unless Kansas gets upset before that, which could happen. Assuming Kansas pulls out the win vs WVU or Cincy, one of Kansas or Baylor gets a really good win.

Assuming Iowa State wins their 1st round game vs Texas or K-State, they'll face the winner of Baylor or Kansas. The fact that they're all on the same half of the bracket really makes it harder to jump the 2 we need to jump.

Assuming things don't go completely nuts:

Baylor probably gets a Quad 1 win in their 1st game.
Iowa State probably gets a Quad 1 win in their 1st game.
Kentucky probably gets a Quad 1 win in their 1st game.
One of them gets a Quad 1 win in their next game and stays ahead of us.

Then the Big East sets up such that Marquette and Creighton play each other 2nd round. One of those teams has to get a really good win.

Ideal world: Kansas loses to Cincinnati, who goes on to beat Baylor. Iowa State loses to Texas. Marquette loses 1st round to a Villanova team that played them close at home. Arizona loses their 1st round game and falls to a 3 seed.

I just dont think the teams ahead of us will drop enough games to sneak us into a 2-seed. But I'm fine with that, give us a 3-seed which is virtually the same as a 2-seed, and also a close location to make the first two games be home games for us, and go from there.

Bring it on the elite 8. Kentucky doesn’t hope for a lower seed. Good grief.
Did not say we should avoid. Just stating where we will be. I agree. I have been saying for a while, bring on whomever. We are what we are. We with figure out how to play and beat team xyz or we will lose. This team has shown over the last month they can do it. We can win at Auburn and Tennessee. We can win against anyone on a neutral quart.
