But o no temper our expectations because it's Pope first season we should settle for 20 wins and a second weekend NCAA etc etc. I was ripped in a post by thinking we could defend our own Rupp arena home games.

I know it's an exhibition game but I've been saying all summer we have a squad full of veteran experience players that can shoot and play defense with a energetic new coach. We're gonna score a ton of points and shut some teams down.

Agree, to a point. But it seems we looked very good and to shoot 50%, as a teams, from 3 against anyone is very impressive. Stiil, want to see what we do against real competition and real defense before going overboard.

This year’s team will be playing at a very fast pace. To do that consistently & effectively you will need a lot of players.

The idea that it’s not possible to play a lot of players is oftentimes claimed, but to me is based on irrelevant historical references and frankly a lack of imagination.

Most teams in college basketball never have the luxury of fielding deep teams, not by choice but by necessity. But that fact shouldn’t prevent teams who do have the capability to not utilize their depth to their full advantage.
