I'm not convinced we have enough run-scoring ability to do it. I hope I'm wrong.Welp, going to need to win three straight to make it to the supers.

This is where I'm at. Certainly capable of winning the region but as well as they did getting highly seeded felt like it has been a team that has competed well but it still isn't extra talented.I'm of the view that the team really overachieved this year and getting out of the regional was going to be tough sledding. I'm excited we're in the tournament, though, and will root for us until the final out.
After this season he'll get at least 2 more years. To get owned by a Little Ten team is unacceptable. Min gee own has got to hit the road.
Sitting at the game I thought the ump was consistent. But sure would have liked have gotten the third called strike on the hitter before the HR. Looked like a close pitch.I watched the game with 3 others and we all thought he called the high strike pretty consistently.
I was sitting near the Indiana parents. The kid’s mom was fuming. They made him completely leave the stadium. He first went to the dugout, then the bullpen, and finally they took him all the way to the soccer field.Lots to say about this one wow. Poorly managed game. But really hard to compete in NCAAB when you are “built” for small ball.
But I have a question for anyone watching / listening. I’m speculating NM was upset about the ejected player not leaving the field , then he appears to make a scene because he went to the dugout ????
That’s what I thought. I was on 3rd base side. NM had a right to ensure he left the field. But he really kept pursuing it and fired up the Indiana dugout even more. They had just hit the HR and were already jacked. I just would like to see him a little more focused on firing up his own team.I was sitting near the Indiana parents. The kid’s mom was fuming. Agreed, the other pivotal moment was top 4 I believe. We had two on and no outs. NM called one of his offensive TO’s to discuss strategy. We absolutely made every wrong decision from that TO forward to end the inning and doing no damage.I thought for sure Mingione would have taken Lee out after getting 2 runners on in the 7th. They hit him pretty hard in the 6th.
He pitched to 1 too many batters. UK had the fresh arms available, so it seemed like a bad move to keep him in.
My main gripe was the hitting approach they had against the second pitcher. He threw the occasional 90 mph fastball but he was getting all the UK hitters on 75 mph off speed stuff. UK hitters were way out in front trying to kill it. They should have been hanging back and driving the off speed the opposite field.
The last pitcher was bringing 96+ heat but was wild and UK wasn’t patient enough.
My guess is that Mingione insisted that he leave the stadium. Probably what had the Indiana Coach fired up.That’s what I thought. I was on 3rd base side. NM had a right to ensure he left the field. Even after the game at home plate NM, Indiana mgr, and an NCAA official were having a pretty animated conversation. The game was over, not sure what NM wanted???
UK had their chances. Hit the ball hard either right at a player or IN made a good play. But not catching the foul ball down the first base line was a killer. I thought Gilliam had a legitimate shot to catch it if he keeps running. But it appeared he was either spooked or called off by the LF who tried to make a sliding catch but was several feet short.Lots to say about this one wow. Poorly managed game. Agree, completely unnecessary. CBB is so fun this time of year. Really hate to see it end for us. I’m sure WVU will play the disrespect card tomorrow (lodging issues). Hope we answer and get another crack at Indiana. My guess is that Mingione insisted that he leave the stadium. Probably what had the Indiana Coach fired up.
Honestly I thought it was unnecessary. Make him leave the dugout….OK. By why force the kid to not be able to watch from the bullpen?
Just FYI for those who didn’t know what happened on when the IN kid got ejected. The ump was warning the IN kids to stay back when the HR hitter was rounding the bases. The kid that got ejected met the hitter half way between home and the dugout and threw a “HR chain” on the hitter. The ump called it unsportsmanlike conduct and ran the kid who put the chain on the hitter.
Couldn't agree more. Don't think we beat WVU. Thought it was a huge mistake even bringing Williams in. They were 0-2 on the hitter with dliders then wasted a couple pitches instead of going after him and getting out the inning. Guy said he was laying for a fb and got it.I was at the game. Not sure how I slept at all last night, it was sickening. This is Indiana, not the SEC. No reason why we can't get more hits against MAC and big ten pitching.
-UK never fails to waste a magical home crowd in almost every sport. There was zero reason for us to lose that game.
-UK just doesn't hit balls out of the park. We have players that blast the ball to the warning track, but literally never hit it out. Then I watch nine hole hitters from the other team go oppo to win games. Sigh.
-Our offense has deserted us. Our big guns are now shells of themselves, as Gilly and Jackson Grey are having a horrible weekend at the plate.
I'm not optimistic about winning three in a row, but I'll be there today hoping for better.
