••OFFICIAL KENTUCKY VS VANDERBILT GAME THREAD••

You know.. could it be that this team is finally starting to learn what to do?

I've said this before.. Cal has some teams that don't struggle with the basics.. but some do. This team is the latter. They are just so far behind fundamentally.

A player not looking in the right direction, then figuring it out later, tells me the problem is on the player, not the coach.

That's a load of shit for a first week fix.

which is why its so unrealistic to believe a team of freshmen gives you any better chance to be a title contender

Like Bryce Hopkins did against LSU, only to be shut down the rest of the season?

Cal has no logic to rotations or playing time. He's insane.

Maybe. But I think BigZs ceiling is much much higher.

I think part of the problem was 1. Big Z had a lot of catching up to do and 2. He's used to FIBA rules which are a lot different than college rules.

I'm hoping he sees more after this game.

Does FIBA teach you to consistently bring the ball to your waist when you are 7'2"?

I don't want to ever hear about Reed Sheppard's defense again. He can get steals, true but just about anyone can take him down in the paint and score.

I've never seen such a shitty team that plays clean defense like Vandy does. Smh!

I don't disagree. I think with 5th and 6th year transfers, the 1AD model is even harder to win with.

A LOT of freshman are struggling in college ball actually. Not just at UK. It's a hard game to transition to, especially now that the game is no longer "out-athlete" the competition, like it was with Wall or Drose. You have to have a certain level of basketball ability now.
