••OFFICIAL KENTUCKY VS SOUTH CAROLINA GAME THREAD••

Some of you asked the question who would replace Cal if he left. How about looking at the guy who is currently embarrassing the mighty UK?

Well, not closing out on a team that's 11 of 24 from 3, losing the rebound battle with three 7ftrs and never posting them up while not hitting from outside...and you lose. Ugly but credit to usc. They played the game of their life and might've beaten anybody shooting and playing d like they did. Shoulda seen it coming but didn't and didn't think usc could keep it up for 40minutes either

This feels like the type of game that will take us down in the tournament.

Cal got absolutely schooled by a journeyman coach. This is a theme that is becoming all too common in the bluegrass.
A potent offensive team with a middling defense lost in the first round as a 2 seed in 2012. That team being Missouri. They were the top ranked offensive team in the country but had a defense ranked 75+. They lost to 15 seed Norfolk State.

Also that year, Duke had a top offense, but a weak defense. They lost in the first round as well to a 15 seed.

If I am scouting UK defensively, under no circumstances do I have my perimeter guys help when Wagner or Dillingham drive. Maybe have the big come over because UK does not have a big that goes for a lob. Face guard Sheppard because he will not try to beat his man nor will he look to be an offensive threat. Reeves is the real threat to shut down in that he will spot up, will drive for mid range and looks to score.

The lack of fundamentals on defense is astounding.

Tonight cannot be chalked up as just not their night. This was being exposed. UK will have a good season but will not make a deep run in the tourney unless they get a ridiculously favorable draw/matchup.

welp the offensive efficiency is gonna take quite a hit tonight.

You know upsets happen especially on the road in conference play.

But we weren't competitive in this one. Normally it's close losses on the road. This wasn't it and it should raise a huge red flag at where we are currently at.

Cal with all this talent losing to SC by this much is awful, do not see them going very far in the NCAA tourney our D is awful.

This UK team is going nowhere. Not a top ten squad. I could see us dropping another 6-7 games at this rate. Easy.

My favorite thing is the people who say “ don’t switch up” after Kentucky looks like absolute shit, and has played to the level of their competition for years now

We get one on one with Wagner. We clearly have more movement with Rob at the point .
I don’t get why some of you on here are trying to force this narrative that Rob Dillingham is some kind of selfish one on one player.
I don’t think he’s selfish at all. He’s just a little too much 1 on 1. What we need is a better-prepared offensive scheme that doesn’t rely on 1 on 1 basketball. Our half court offense has always been terrible under Cal and our half court defense is pathetic.

You mean to tell me that Cal could get Peacocked again?
