SC playing old RP defense. Foul on every play, the refs aren't going to call them all.
25 pts in the first half doesn't look much like a National Championship type of offense. What we need right about now is some HOF style coaching. Can we rent that?
They’re hardly calling any, but our guys gotta play tougher and create enough contact that they have to be called.
When teams do not run with us, our offensive clearly has issues. Wagner is not the guy when you need to grind it out and run good sets against a D that makes you work.
Everybody but Dilly is playing like they’re hungover. Dilly has 11 points and the rest of the team has 14! Shots are bouncing off the side of the rim, some of the passing his been piss poor, careless turnovers. Add an unfavorable whistle and we’re doomed unless the team collectively steps up. Because Dilly will still be on the bench for half the game because of Cal’s “everybody eats” substitution philosophy.
Still comical that a 22% three point shooter that averages 6 points per game is 3-3 tonight on threes.
Barring a 15 or 16 seed upset if we got a 1 or 2, it’s a fact. They project as a play in 11 or 12 at best coming into tonight. One night of exposing a team that has no physicality and can’t play defense doesn’t make them any better. Theyre a fringe tournament team.
It’s one thing to lose this game. Getting absolutely thrashed, trounced, embarrassed, and whatever other synonyms you can think of is not a good sign.
And the top 68 teams don't make the tournament. There are tons of bids that go to bad mid major teams who won their conference tournament. Fringe P6 teams that just miss the tournament are the around the 30th or 40th best team in the country.
Because they are better than all the 12 seeds and worse. We ain’t getting a 12 in the second round. We are getting a 5-7 seed, and all of those are miles better than this SC squad. I’ll make a sig bet right now that they don’t win a post season game.

Lol, my bad. Completely misread your first post. I thought you said SC is worse than any team we'd play in the round of 64, not after it.
Yeah looking back I can see I should have just said round of 32.
And yeah, I’m a little salty after this performance. Hopefully we take the lesson away that we can’t just hang 90 and not play defense every night. Ceiling is still high.
Sad thing is, we had several big stops early in the 1st half. We played fairly solid defense.
It was our offense that collapsed. Towards the end of the game we were shooting 20% from the 3 points.. offense feeds off of defense and vice versa.. when you shoot 20% from 3, the opponent it getting a lot of rebounds and fast breaks.
If you ask me, our defense isn't quite as bad as it looks (more of a focus and commitment thing).. and our offense is severely overrated, predicated on fast break points, hot shooting from Reeves and Reed, but very weak in the half court.
