I'm looking forward to seeing how Matthews can help us next year. I've only read really good things about his athleticism, defensive skills, solid offense, and being a hard working good kid. And I know his national ranking suffered his Jr. season with an injury. But I've had this thought ever since he committed to UK.
If I recall correctly, Cal visited Matthews a few days before his commitment almost as though Cal gave him the green light to get our '15 class started. But then within a week(s) Luke Kennard all of the sudden went from a UK favorite to a Duke commitment. I wonder if Matthews-to-UK triggered Kennard-to-Duke.....that turn of events was so abrupt and unexpected. In my opinion, Cal went after CM thinking he could still get LK. But perhaps, LK felt jilted then easily fell in love with Duke? TJ, am I totally off-base?
The reason for the water-under-the-bridge post is LK's 3-point victory last night at McD.
