SEC Blows Again

A&M will fall out of rankings, losing to Murray State. South Carolina down 20 to Colorado State. Colorado, who beat UT, loses to UMASS.

Cal really has no excuses for not winning a ton of games. But, alas, he will manage to lose 4-5 non conference games and another 4-5 in SEC play🤦🏻‍♂️
You KNOW conference play is always harder, and that goes for everyone, not just us. Duke lost games in the sucktastic ACC last year, and at HOME.

But, yes, only UT and Arky should give us trouble.

SEC teams are like bulls seeing red when they play Kentucky.

The SEC has a few teams that I think will be very dangerous come tournament time (UK, UT, Arky, Bama, Auburn), but there is a lot of suck at the bottom (Georgia, Vandy, South Carolina, Ole Miss).

Single losses by teams don't dictate how good the conference will be. That's just moronic.

Really depends on what other teams' defenses look like. They all know exactly what we are going to do - run around and try to "create" a play. There won't be plays set up, it's always just everyone get down the court and dribble around until you see that crack of weakness in the defense, then attack.

If we're not hitting shots, we lose with that offensive "scheme". St. Peters figured it out, as will several other teams that have no business being within 15-20 points of UK.

Even if you hate Cal with the white-hot passion of a thousand burning suns you have to admit he was correct when he said that UK is "everybody's Super Bowl."

While he’s an A+ recruiter, Calipari’s inability to put the time into coaching is why he struggles so bad in conference. He’s just too easy to scheme for it gives a lot of teams a chance to win at the end even when they don’t have the talent.

1. Plays into their hands by forcing rock fights.

2. Doesn’t have players with offensive ability.

3. Easy to scheme for.

This is why we have so many close calls and lose a lot of conference games we shouldn’t.

There’s no doubt about that. He just doesn’t make it any easier is the problem.

Probably half the SEC losses he’s had, he could have just ran them out of the gym.

SEC teams literally turns in 95-96 Bulls when it’s their turn to play Kentucky. Screw them.

Yep. He refuses to dictate tempo, though. It’s fuvking maddening! Send traps, pick up full court, play passing lanes, etc. You’re also right in regards to Cal being super easy to scheme for. He doesn’t change up anything. He plays the same on both sides of the ball the entirety of the game, with no or very limited adjustments.
