Short of Donavan, I don’t see any NBA coaches being discussed as a possible hire. I understand that the game is completely different, but Pitino came from the NBA and owned the late 90’s here. Are there just not any good options in the NBA ranks right now other than Donavan? Are there any coaches out of the NBA that would make us happy?

There’s plenty of good coaches in the league. I think we just aren’t seeing their names come up because the NBA coaching fraternity is mostly separate from the college one and not many of those guys are looking to break into the college ranks. At a quick glance, Donovan is one of only 3 to have significant college experience. Since the other two are Quin Snyder and Kevin Ollie, I think it becomes obvious why none of the others are being floated.
