Let's Talk SEC-Tournament Seeding (In-Depth Breakdown)

Something to watch for- if we find a way to screw up and lose 2 games down the stretch, it opens the door for a team like Mizzou to catch us.

They are now 8-7 with games left against:

Ole Miss
@UGA
@LSU

They should finish 11-7 also.

Arkansas and Florida also have 7 losses, but Arkansas still plays @Bama and @TN, so I don't foresee them winning out.

Mizzou is probably the only team in a position to stand pat at 7 losses, and they have the tiebreaker on us.

But if we lose 2 of our last 4, we don't deserve the double bye.

that was not a jump ball. it was a great play to get rid of it. they should have had a layup on the other end actually.

They didn't call a jump ball, they called a Texas A&M timeout

Down goes Tennessee and up goes Mizzou!

Updates!

With the latest updates and if these predictions would be correct, this would be the final standings.

FINAL PROJECTED STANDINGS:

#1 Alabama (16-2)
#2 Texas A&M (15-3)
#3 Kentucky (12-6)
#4 Missouri (11-7) (holds tie break over TN and Vandy)
#5 Tennessee (11-7) (Holds tiebreak over Vandy)
#6 Vandy (11-7) (Loses tiebreak scenarios)
#7 Auburn (10-8)
#8 Arkansas (9-9)

So we would be looking at Vandy in the quarters and Texas A&M in the semis.

Crazy to think our game against Vandy next week might be for the 3 seed

Thanks for the breakdown. I had a similar thing written up. A&M did us a huge favor in beating Tennessee. We just have to win our next 3, but we have some breathing room. The Auburn game is big. If we lose that one and @ARK, we could get passed by both Missouri and Auburn as they would have the tie-breaker on us. How crazy would it be if 5 teams finish 11-7?

More Updates!

Really hope this is helping people, or maybe I'll just let the thread die, but I like keeping up with this stuff!

Vandy goes down!! Big upset to LSU.

vs. Ole Miss (W)

#7 Vandy (8-7)
vs. Florida (W)
@ Kentucky (L)
vs. Mississippi State (W)

#8 Arkansas (8-7)

FINAL PROJECTED STANDINGS:

#5 Tennessee (11-7)
#6 Vandy (10-8) (Holds tie break over AUB)
#7 Auburn (10-8)
#8 Arkansas (9-9)

Kentucky would be looking now at Vandy in the quarterfinals, and with a win, would play Texas A&M still.

#1 seed Alabama would be looking at a quarterfinal matchup with suddenly healthy Arkansas.

Another big night tonight in the SEC!!

I have to pat myself on the back and say this was NEARLY spot on- just missed Arkansas dropping 1 extra game (to UK as it turns out) and bumping down to the 10 seed.
