Surprised no one has started this. We are already down 2-0 in the top of the 3rd. We have one hit and two walks so far.

We go quietly in the top of the 3rd. Gray flies out deep and Felker and and Burkes strike out looking and swinging respectively.

3-0 WKU after 3. They plate another with an HBP, single and single.

Ryder Giles replaces Smith who was getting pounded. Bottom of the 4th, one out and a runner on 2nd. Got his two outs and we go to the 5th still trailing 3-0.

5 strikeouts through top of the 5th. We go 1, 2, 3 again. We have one base hit so far.

Evan Byers in now in the bottom of the 5th. Got one out, then throwing error, single, walk bases loaded with one out. He balks in a run and then gets two strikeouts.

Burkes hits into a double play to end the top of the 6th. We are doing absolutely nothing at the plate. Gray got a good single to lead off. Felker forced him out, and Burkes cleaned the bases the wrong way.

Seth Logue to pitch in the bottom of the 6th, gets K looking, gives up an infield single, fly out to right, and gets a high chopper ground out to short. Still 4-0 WKU

Pitre walks in the top of the 7th and they switch pitchers. Gilliam gets a hit which is mishandled and scores Pitre, Gilliam at 2nd. 4-1 now. Waldschmidt walks. WKU brings in another pitcher to try to contain the inning. He inherits runners on 1st and 2nd. It just seems like Kentucky is finally waking up and participating in this game. 3rd base throws Stanke's bunt into right field so we score and have runners on 2nd and 3rd. They walk McCarthy to load the bases. Grant Smith called out on strikes, strike 3 via a time clock violation for our first out. Jackson Gray makes up for that hitting a 3-2 grand slam. UK 6-4

Felker flies out for out 2. Burkes walked then gets caught stealing because he slid over the bag. Still 6-4 Cats.

Cotto comes in and promptly walks the first batter he faces, then gets Garcia to meekly ground into a double play. Then records a strike out. Good recovery for Cotto after giving up his first walk of the year.

UK lines out, grounds out, and then a single from Waldschmidt, who steals 2nd. Reuben Church pinch hits for Stanke, gets a walk. McCarthy gets a break when the 1st baseman runs away from a foul ball down right field line foul. McCarthy then rolls one to short who bobbles the easy infield throw. Waldschmidt scores on the late throw to first. Church is almost thrown out getting too far off of 2nd. Grant Smith now up with two outs.

New pitcher for WKU, Burns comes in and gives up a 3 run home run to Grant Smith. 10-4

WKU giving us runners, free bases. It's good to see us taking advantage of them. We have only 3 LOB. Jackson Nove coming in in the bottom of the 8th.

He gets a strike out and then gives up a HR to right center, gets a ground out to Pitre, a single to left, Burkes bobbles a catch and gives up a base. Nove walks the next two batters to load them up. A lot happening with two outs. Nove gets himself pulled because he couldn't throw strikes.

Chavez brought in to get the final out of the 8th. AAAND he walk the next run in. Sheesh.... Then wild pitch scores another 10-7. Good grief... Gets the final out right at the left field wall.

Top of the 9th, Felker grounds out easily to 2nd, Burkes strikes out looking. He doesn't seem to be seeing it well today at all, a lot of awkward swings and checked swings, then taking this called third strike. Pitre gets the 3rd out with a weak fly out to right center.

Hise brought in for the 9th, starts our with a ball, then rights the ship to get a K swinging, then gets a called strike three, followed by a HR. At least he is throwing strikes. 10-8.

We have two outs can we get the last one?

Pitre gets far to his left and gets the ball, throwing it to Gilliam who collides with the runner at the bag for the final out. Kentucky wins 10-8.

I was listening to this game online and Darren was REALLY frustrated with the strike zone we were getting. Seemed to think we were really getting screwed.

This was just a get a win and get out of town kind of game, after sleepwalking through most of it.

Huge series this weekend, hope that hope fans turn out for it.

I think fans may be kept away by the weather. No way they play Friday and Saturday is supposed to be windy as hell. Sunday looks decent at this point.

The broadcast made it hard to know anything about the strike zone.

Wish we wouldn’t have been sleepwalking for the first half of the game, but proud that in several of these games we have made a run at the end.

If Twitter is correct (from the pictures anyway) our team was on a bus for the way to the Tuscaloosa , they stopped in Corbin, and then another 3 hour trip yesterday. Did the team bus back Sunday or fly back? That’s a lot of bus time in a short span. Probably contributed to the lackluster start.
