Mental note to self: go re-watch some UK games.

EDIT: I just wanted to add a bit of praise for Murray's game. As PG he seems to evaluate the floor as quickly as a QB making reads on his receivers. The combination of Murray, Ulis, and Briscoe in a game will be that old cliche: an embarrassment of riches.

His martial arts and yoga background give him incredible body control, as evidenced by the left-handed shot off the glass. Going to be a huge star for UK.

Great court vision and ability to finish in traffic. Very impressive.

Murray is one of the youngest players EVER to play for Canada in the Pan Am games, in his very first game, against older and experienced players, and more than held his own.

A backcourt of Ulis and Murray should be absolutely outstanding.

One of my annual gripes about stats is that they never seem to credit as many assists and blocked shots as I see when I watch the game. Last year I bet they missed an average of 3 blocks per game.

Thanks for the support. And yeah, I thought Murray played very well too, and I cannot wait to see him as a part of UK's back court next season. I'll try to do a Murray highlight video like this for all the Canada Pan American games. They play again today against Argentina.

It looked like Murray might have tweaked his ankle on that last play, so hopefully he will be fine and ready to go again today.

Some observations:

1) Murray's game is interesting, kind of a PG / SG / SF that just finds a way to get the ball in the basket through the pass or his own shot. Pure winner; put points on the board and play defense.

2) Murray has more quick twitch athleticism that many have given him credit for. That break-away dunk required him to get off the floor right now, which he did. Because he's a crafty scorer, we assume that he has to be crafty because of a lack of athleticism. This is not the case. I think the creative, crafty side comes from playing against much older kids at an early age. So now, we have a player that has the skills of guys who need to "out think" their opponents AND top notch athleticism.

3) It's going to be fun watching Ulis (a pass first PG). Briscoe (a bulldog, slashing PG), Murray (an hybrid PG) on the court at the same time. With such fluid roles, we may see an offense like none other at UK this year.

I will echo the compliments for the OP doing the video. Awesome.

But! I know many won't like this being said, but Murray is best from the 2 games I have now seen with the ball in his hands. He does not look as good to me off the ball as a 2 guard, or in the front court since he is 6'5" in a 3 guard line-up for us. I don't see how Ulis can be the p.g along with Murray playing at the same time. Briscoe can be a 2 guard but I don't yet see Murray and Ulis fitting together to each of their strengths, sorry. If you hold a different perspective please share it with some observations to back it up.

Given that the tournament runs from August 31st to September 12, is this even possible? When do classes start? When would Murray be expected to be on campus?

5-6 turnovers would be historically great. Last year, Wisconsin averaged 7.4 turnovers, fewest in the nation, and they were one of the most efficient offenses in years. There is literally no chance we average as few as 6 turnovers a game next year.

5-6 turnovers would be historically great. Last year, Wisconsin averaged 7.4 turnovers, fewest in the nation, and they were one of the most efficient offenses in years. There is literally no chance we average as few as 6 turnovers a game next year.

2. Wisconsin was a very efficient team but still didn't have three primary ball-handlers on their team. Their efficiency is attributed to experience and the flex offense.
3. I saw Tyler Ulis get stripped ONCE last year. He also had damn near a 4-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (third in the nation as a FRESHMAN!) He will be our primary ballhandler.
4. All three PG's have a high basketball IQ.
5. UK's bigs and wings will not have the ball in their hands very much this year. (Lee, Poythress, Matthews and Mulder will finish plays not initiate. Skal will be the exception.)

Sure its a reach that they pull it off but they only averaged 10.5 turnovers last year. Not THAT big of a gap to get there.

I suppose you could say that there is technically a non-zero chance, with that chance being somewhere around one in ten million. But I'd round that to zero. I looked up the NCAA record, and Wisconsin's 7.4/g is the best going back to 1993 (looks like it wasn't tracked before that?). We're not going to have 1.5 fewer than the next best team of the past 22 years.

The UK style of play does not allow for that few turnovers. I actually thought 10 last year was great.
