Favorite song line

“And it’s too late
To lose the weight
You used to need
To throw around”

“When you're soaring through the air
I'll be your solid ground
Take every chance you dare
I'll still be there
When you come back down”

"Me I'm just another face at Zanzibar.
But the waitress always serves a secret smile.
She's waiting out in shantytown.
She's gonna pull the curtains down for me."
Billy Joel

Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge, drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain

Jungleland, Springsteen

Was listening to some old songs recently and jotted these down

"The couples cling and claw
And drown in love's debris"

"Have you seen her? So fine and pretty
Fooled me with her style and ease
And I feel her from across the room
Yes, it's love in the third degree"

"My child arrived just the other day He came to the world in the usual way"

"I've always listened to your point of view, my ways I tried to mend
And I've always been a patient man, but my patience has reached its end
You tell me you're leaving, you tell me goodbye
You say you might send a letter
Well honey don't telephone, cause I won't be alone
I need someone to make me feel better"

"Times are gone For honest men"

"She looked at him with those soft eyes so innocent and blue
He knew right then he was too far from home"

How'd it all get so confused?
Last night i was smoking weed and watching the news
And as far as i can tell the whole deals screwed
Everyones got a gun and their own version of the truth
They're turning profits in the name of prophets
Everything we had i guess we lost it
And all this god shit, it's enough to make me vomit
Keep your redemption i don't want it
Under god, one nation
Load the rocket launchers lead us not into temptation
And we'll roll our tanks straight thru the gates of heaven
Singing praise the lord, and pass the ammunition
How'd we get so lost?
Seems like in the human race the humans lost
Everyone wants the credit, no one takes the blame
Everyone's pointing fingers but it all just sounds the same
And if you check the terrorists
Down to the presidents
When you add it up it's just the same old rhetoric
And all this god shit, it's enough to make me vomit
Keep your redemption i don't want it
Under god, one nation
Strap some nitro to your waist lead us not into temptation
And we'll carry our sins with us to heaven
Singing praise the lord and pass the ammunition

We’ll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worshipped will be gone.
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide, and the shotgun sings the song

I tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I get on my knees and pray
We don’t gets fooled again

Meet the new boss...same as the old boss.

Why we used to laugh together
And we'd dance to any old song
Well, ya know, she still laughs with me
But she waits just a second to long

We fired our cannons till the barrel melted down; so we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round. We filled his head with cannon balls and powdered his behind and when we touched the powder off---- the gator lost his mind.

From the battle of New Orleans.

And if I hear one more time
About a fool's right to his tools of rage
I'm gonna take all my friends
And I'm gonna move to Canada
And we're gonna die of old age

And that's been fifty years ago
And you can go by there yet
There's a spot in the yard in the back of that shack
Where the ground is always wet
And on summer nights, if the moon is right
Down by the that dark footpath
You can hear three young men screaming
You can hear one old man laugh

If you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with.

Well we've got no class
And we've got no principals
And we've got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes

Now I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am
And I'm glad I'm a man
And so is Lola
