I do admit respecting Cal for his comments when he apologized explaining he was equally as sad as the rest of us, admitted mistakes on his coaching decisions. Recognizing he should have started and built Reed. Dillingham, and Reeves team work and confidence. He admitted to not knowing how to properly teach zone defense and pressing. He promised to hire an expert. He humblely asked for BBN support for another season and said he is going after the most elite portal transfers as well as getting commitments from the current players to stay who are eligible. He shared his goal is a college championship and the players would earn through positive representation of our program future NBA careers after graduation. There were more changes he promised. He concluded by saying he wants to rebuild his relationship with the fans.

If he mentioned his own flaws I didn’t hear it. I heard more about needing to get older (we started two seniors and a sophomore) and tougher (need to get older) but that we still need to keep freshmen. So basically let’s do the same exact thing we are doing now and hope for a better result. Balked at making a statement about staff changes or anything. To me it was nothing more than him trying to save his job but lacked any real true self reflection. Just my opinion.

I’m tired of hearing after the season is over that he should have done exactly what people asked him to after like 5 games into the previous season. He can get lost.

Part of the reason I believe he is coming unglued. Becoming desperate.

I was just thinking if he couldn’t get by the first game with the team he had this year what’s he gonna to do next year??

He also said it didn’t matter that Reed didn’t start because he played a lot of minutes. BULLSHIT; it matters. We lost by 4 points. If Reed and Rob start the game and the second half, we win. Or if Adou didn’t rot on the bench for 33 minutes, we win. He was fine to go back into the game.

He can rebuild his relationship with the fans by resigning. Nothing else will work.

OP PLEASE DON'T FORGET CAL DID THIS SAME SHIT IN 2021.

Below is a transcipt from his radio show after 9-16

Tom...What's atually changing?

Cal: The transfer rule

--The G league thing

--Top 3-5 players go to G league now

--The likeness thing

--The game itself changes

--Gotta space the court like we did with D Willis

--This year our strength was throwing to the post

--Gonna have guys staying 3-4 years now

--Several guys went home this week

--These kids didnt get to experience the real Rupp

--No positives for 5 months

--Now we gotta look further down from the top 5

--Will a kid transfer on you now?

--Proud of how they fought all year

--I coached this year trying to give us a chance to win

--Davion got better

--I expect to win every game

--Gotta get back to the mental toughness

--What if we have another summer like last year where we cant be together?

I apologize if people didn't realize this was all fantasy. I thought everyone would instantly know an egotistical guy like Cal would never say anything like I said. It was satire.
Sorry, went right over my head. :flushed:

Pathetic if that had been true. 😂😂😂

9 million a year and can't/won't implement a defensive scheme to stop hemorrhaging from basic ball screens.

Fraud 101
For real, it’s absolutely ridiculous. Obviously Welch fixed the offense until Cal decided to run it thru the post in the most important games of the year, but what do these other assistants do about defense? Why aren’t we teaching this stuff?

Same speech every year, change Mintz to a different player. Single our a couple players each year for excuses.

He’s always been a good salesman. Intelligent people can see through it though.

He literally didnt say any of that . What are you talking about?
Again, this thread was just the OP’s failed attempt at satire.

If an attempt at sarcasm leaves this many people baffled …well, then you know you’ve messed it up. Satire is supposed to provoke laughter, not confusion.
