Zagoria: Wenyen Gabriel School Visits

**Wenyen Gabriel will have school visits with Kentucky and UConn on Sept. 10 at Wilbraham & Monson (MA) and with Providence, Duke and Maryland on Sept. 9, his AAU coach confirmed to SNY.tv. The 6-10 Gabriel recently cut his list to five and will take officials to Maryland (Sept. 4-6), Kentucky (Sept. 25-27) and Duke (Oct. 16-18).

Duke fans are as cocky right now as UK fans were after 2012. They think they are going to get everyone. But K is going to have to prove he can handle a deeper roster than they've typically enjoyed, plus they're going to have to deal with the same issues as we have.

It's all going to level out in the end. We just need to hang on to Cal until he's ready to retire. He'll be around longer than K. Plus, I like the fact that we are getting heavily involved with international recruits. That could pay huge divedends, and I think it's an area we could work to our advantage.

Hey, I get this is a UK board. But you guys literally were talking about a recruit, and I posted what I would think is the most definitive statement I've heard from a major recruiter about that player. I get that some people hate Duke fans and hate outsiders and whatnot, but I would think information about a recruit is welcome, even if it isn't necessarily positive news for UK. I am not much of a shoot the messenger type You guys get something pro-UK about a Duke target, post away... It might depress me, but I won't go all "Oh you damn UK fans always saying you have a shot at OUR guys!"

It seems very unlikely, from what I have gathered around Duke sources, that Giles is not coming to Duke. There is a lot of confidence by a lot of people close to the program, including among more modest, reasonable folks who are generally cautious. Of course, that much and more was said about Harry Barnes by some people.

Yep, he knows so much of his stuff, and is so legit he has absolutely no clue what happened in his own profession, just three shorts years ago. Need I remind you that people who don't even follow recruiting know about it all too well because it was literally the talk of the entire season.

Hundreds of articles were written and comparisons to the Fab 5 were made; yet, this legit recruiting insider, who knows his stuff, seems to think this will be the first time it has happened since 1991. I think you and I have very, very different opinions on what "knows his stuff" and "legit" actually means.

I get Duke is the 'hot' team and it is certainly plausible that K brings in this dream class, but there are certainly going to be an influx of front court players on one roster-- I know, I know KAT, WCS, Lyles, Poy, and Dakari.

I can see it being Tatum, Giles, and Bolden or Gabriel. I just do not see it being all of them because they already have a 5 Star Center on board.

If Duke does sign that class, I'll say "good for them", but I want to see this all play out first.

kentucky has always been the other team at the top with duke. coach cal has amazing relationship with harry. he has always known it would be uphill battle to get harry out of tobacco road. but he has done great job. harry going to oak hill will help some. that shows me hes not scared to leave if its in his best interest. we are still firmly in the mix for his services. spending all weekend with anothny davis , demarcus cousins and wcs wont hurt either. its not a lock to duke like some think. not yet at least
