Kentucky’s John Calipari, Kansas’ Bill Self, Duke’s Jon Scheyer and Arizona’s Joe Pasternack are among the coaches expected in Thursday night to watch 7-foot 2016 Australian sensation Isaac Humphries of La Porte (IN) La Lumiere when they play Wasatch Academy (UT).

Weather could be a factor that could impact the coaches’ travel, head coach Shane Heirman said, but Humphries has already attracted attention from Kentucky and others high-majors.

“He’s new, he’s intriguing, he’s 7 foot, he’s really agile and skilled so he’s someone I think [Kentucky] would be interested in,” Brad Johnstin, La Lumiere’s associate head coach, told SNY.tv.

Johnston said Duke, Kansas, Arizona, UCLA, Oregon and “just about everybody” has reached out.

It laid it's eggs already. We are all going to die.

Humphries is interesting because he went nuts at the 17 and under world championships. 18.9 ppg on .576 shooting, 11.6 rpg, over 3 blocks. That included a game against the Canadian team where he had 41/19. That's the good part. The questionable part is that when he ran into the US squad, he looked mortal, being held to 8 pts, 7 rebounds.

The fact that he came to the US pre-senior year gives people time to scout him more, and I assume he'll play against some of the best in the 2016 class during the spring and summer. We'll see what scouts have to say after that. He's obviously talented enough to draw the attention of all the big boys, but whether he's a 5 star, top 10, lottery-bound stud (ala where Kanter was seen coming into college) remains to be seen.

Sheyer was mentioned as the coach there representing Duke. Other than that I have no clue why he put this pic up

Calipari did indeed make it to the game to watch Humphries, per a twitter report.

He looks like he's been flashed by Janet Reno in every photo
