Love him? Hate him? Don't care?
What's he doing nowadays anyway?
In what way? He's basically turned his back on uk and jumped feet first into bed with uofl. If what you say is true, he has an odd way of expressing appreciation. Maybe he's just quiet....UK protected the heck out of him back in early 2000's...

Should be in jail for what happened under his watch building the Yum Center. He allowed UofL to negotiate with UofL ...then when the heat came...he resigned
Hmm. Then something happened - clearly Barnhart or more likely Todd got crossways with him. Or something happened....He had the media contract, those of us that came out with better stuff at the time were pretty much persona non grata... I guess I was probably considered a little worse than that...

an outstanding man if he is a republicanUK put him in the Hall of Fame a few years ago. Guy's a big Republican. Ernie Fletcher asked him to get an arena built in downtown Louisville ... and he did that.
Still has done a lot of good things for UK along the way. And made some coin in the process.
Off topic, but I think he was the reason Cawood got to call the Final Four for all those years?
Brian ... Please elaborate. I thought he built the UK network into the most powerful network in college sports. He and Cawood were great friends. I just assumed he loves UK. Ended up being asked to produce the Yum Center by the Gov. He got it done but he didn't have anything to do with the lease and I think his distaste for the garbage UL and the City pulled plus driving to Lou everyday caused him to walk away. UK ought to bring him into the Athletic Dept as a consultant to help get the baseball field built and also get some ideas on Rupp. Jim always seemed to be a remarkable man. With that said I just observed from afar and don't know anything personally. I was always proud to hear Host Communications on the radio
I have known Jim for 45 years. He is one of the finest , most decent and honorable people I have ever known. The number of people he has helped in life would astound you. That's why he's in the College Basketball Hall of Fame . He's the absolute best.It was always my impression that Jim Host's only real priority was making money for himself, and that any affinities he had for any other person or institution were purely ancillary to that priority.
But I've never met the guy, and as far as I know I've never met anyone who knows the guy personally.
