Whether you saw Rupp Hall, Sutton, Pitino or Tubby for the first time, what was your favorite game with any of our 7 coaches?

For me it would have to be the 1996 championship game. Considering where we were just a few years earlier, and the fact it was the first championship that I was old enough to remember.

I don't know if I have a favorite game (it's hard not to pick a championship game), but I loved the Ron Mercer and Derek Anderson squads. It seemed like an inevitability that, at some point in the game, we were going to go on a 23-4, 18-0, 16-2, or other such run. That was fun basketball to watch.

Of course, I initially fell in love with UK by watching the Bowie, Minniefield, Hurt, Hord, et. al team. (I don't remember the 1978 title team. Not even a little. But I remember the following year's team, except I don't actually remember Macy, unfortunately.) I remember Jim Master shooting free throws. I loved watching all the greats come through. Turpin (who had an issue with eating that I can appreciate), Bennett, Kenny Walker, who was my favorite player until Chapman and the Monster Mash came through. I still picture Roger Harden shooting long two-point shots before there was a 3-point line. (Blew my mind when they added a 3-point shot!) I think the shot by Patrick Sparks is STILL hanging on a rim somewhere. (We should have won that game.) Coming back at LSU after being down, like, 31 points. Unreal. And how happy were you when Sean Woods' runner went through? Happiest I've ever been as a basketball fan. Then, the cruel nature of life was revealed only moments later. (Yes, I still hate Laettner, who should have been ejected for stomping on Timberlake.) Hey, I just remembered Gimel Martinez, of the great mustache. Great memories.

Sorry if this is the rambling of an old man. But I've bled blue as long as I can remember. Love my Cats.

If was at the UK UL Final Four game in New Orleans and that game had so much riding on it. To have to play anyone in the FF with the incredible team we had in 2012, but having it be your arch rival, had me so nervous all day that we just walked around Bourbon Street in a daze. UL was playing with house money, so they were dangerous. I was munchin on Tums instead of drinking bourbon before the game! It was a heck of a game and we spilled out onto the streets afterwards and partied all night with all the other fans...that was my favorite game so far. I'm hoping for more like it!

There are so many; will have to think a bit on that one!

Something missing that comes to mind is 2015: if not for the Higgins-Sirmons combo vs Wisconsin, UK would likely have defeated Duke for #9. "For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest of these is 'what might have been'." Too much of that sentiment in 2011, 2015 and now, 2017, with Higgins being the common denominator.

On a happy note, a highlight was being in Indy in 2014 to witness UK beat Louisville in the Sweet Sixteen. Just glorious!

As far as a National hyped game at Rupp would be Bowie and Turpin and the Cats vs Akeem the dream and the Houston Cougars! !-22-84. Rupp was rocking from Tip-off till the Final. The loudest game I've ever been to. On a cold January Day for a National audience. Joe B Hall was the coach. Great lowers with a good friend. Never will forget Sam and Melvin both blocking An Akeem shot together was totally awesome. Final UK74 ......Houston 67. Great, great game!!!!!!!!!

Times 10,000. I have never watched a replay of a UK game more than the 1998 Duke game. Being down 17 points with 9:30 left in the game and winning the game to get to the Final Four was stunning. I don't think UK winning the 1992 Duke game would have matched the 1998 Duke/UK game though, I certainly wish UK would have won that game.

UK's win over Indiana in the 1975 Mideast Regional to also get to the Final Four is a close second. UK had lost by 24 points to Indiana earlier that season. This was the game where Bobby Knight cuffed Joe B. Hall in the back of the neck during the game.

The 1998 National Championship game is also one of my all time favorites, in large part, because I was fortunate enough to attend the game. UK was down 10 points at half to Utah and came back to win. To this day, that weekend in San Antonio was one of the most fun weekends I have experienced.

I was not at that game. My first UK game was a year later in 1959. However, there was a 331/3 album cut back in the 1970's which featured radio highlights of the great UK games. I spent hours listening and relistening to Claude Sullivan's call of the last seconds of that Temple game. As I recall, many UK fans had given up on the Cats and left Memorial Coliseum only to hear on their transistor radios that UK was coming back and returned to see the game.

Mills and Padgett making those threes against Duke ... those were Roy Hobbs into the lights moments. Hard to measure up to that, but Aaron Harrison probably comes the closest.

Never forget C Harrison off the bench burying a few corner threes . Chris was a local boy who was ready for the call that night .

Best game I saw in person at Rupp Arena was the Anthony Davis UK team beating UNC on the last second block by Davis. I paid an insane amount of money for 2 tickets at midcourt and 4th row. Rupp was awesome that day. I have been to many games there but the atmosphere and loudness of Rupp was amazing.

1986 UK-Uavel game in Cheetum Hall Cliff Hagan had given me 2 bench passes since the game was sold out
It was a coming out party for Rex Chapman who put 27 on the Dirty Birds including some 3 pointers that Cawood said "were from the Watterson Expressway " I sat behind Winston Bennett who was out that year with an ACL. The lead grew to 30 points and the crowd was bailing out at the end only a few thousand Lil Brother fans remained even Muhammad Ali gave up at the end Rob Lock power dunked on Felton Spencer Eddie Sutton was well oiled and we took him and Dwayne Casey to a hangout after the game and Eddie stood on a chair and led the crowd in My Old Kentucky Home great memories

The 1984 team against UL in Rupp, which resulted in a beat down of 65-44. I think Bowie had about a dozen blocked shots that game.

Honestly? Our 32-point demolition of Kansas in 2014. The platoons ran flawlessly. That was the best I've ever seen a college team play.

I'm partial to the Bruin ass kicking that same season, holding them to 7 pts. in the first half was just incredible to watch.

"They're pretty good, aren't they?" - Greg Anthony asks as they go to break

Best game watched on TV - UK/Duke 98 easily

Best game I've attended - tie between the Tayshaun Prince/UNC game in 2001, and the 2003 "Basketbowl" vs. Michigan State in Detroit.

Some pretty amazing games right there. Wish I could have seen the two you did, in person.

1. 1998 Elite 8 against Duke. Put those sanctimonious snobs back in there place!
1a. 1975 Elite 8 against Big Bad Bob's Hoosiers. Put that conceited jerk in his place!

Regular season game has to be UK vs UNC earlier this season. Back and forth, up and down. It was a blast to the end!

Tournament game is 2012 championship. We had been waiting so long. I remember being on midnight shift that night. I drove in to work smiling and left the next morning still smiling.

Strangely, the '92 Duke game. Even though uk lost, I knew they were back. It was obvious. Think back. You knew. I knew. They knew. It's been ON ever since.

Great picks but after the in season beat down at Bloomington and the slap to the back of Joe B's head. I loved every dribble and every second of that game. Knight's wife crying ( she knew he would beat her) was a pitiful thing! What an arrogant ass!

I do when it's against a great team. I like the no stress blow outs as I get older.

1978 Mideast Regional Final against Magic and Michigan St. in Dayton Arena. My first year of "trying" to follow the Cats to all the NCAA tourney games.

It was just a great game with MSU hecklers behind us trying to piss us off. Then we won and heckled them to the point we were in a face to face confrontation, but one of us backed down and the other was glad of it.

Word spread that we were having a celebration back at Memorial. We then followed the team bus back to Lexington. We had to stop and use the bathroom so much and then catch up. When we got to to Memorial, they had stage set up for the players and we were hugging the cheerleaders and just new we would win it all in St Louis.

Just a magical time.
