By coincidence, Clemson basketball team is hosting Louisville tomorrow. At least those fifteen Bama basketball fans circle our game. Who gets excited when the cards come to play. Bet you can hear a pin drop in that basketball arena tomorrow.

Back in the middle late 70s, during the Leon Douglas years, Bama had a very fine team. I can't remember the score exact ally but both UK and Bama played a 100 point slugfest which UK won. I'm sure many remember that game.

I think bammer fans are distracted by ice tea.

Biggest " love when we win, who cares when we lose" fanbase on this planet. It gets old watching any old fat drunk idiot rooting for them because it's once a week, they can focus and keep up, and it's got that ever so catchy ROOOOOLLLL TIDE!!!!! Phrase that is just ever so awesome, even after the 20th commercial in 2 days featuring the words.

Honestly, if I see one more "bammer fan" - overweight, scrubby bearded, overalls wearing, hay hat straw field suckin bastard walking around with absolutely no idea where they even play, I'm gonna commit suicide right there.

They know Basketball is not their field of expertise but was a pretty good crowd there last night was expecting not as many guess a lot of them traveling today. Mrhotdice I remember that game like it was last night I was working that night prizing tobacco but we had a radio that was a heckuva game.

They had over 15,000 in Coleman Coliseum for the game, and they were pretty loud at times. Give the Cats credit for keeping them quiet for the most part. Bama has had several fine teams in the past, during the C M and Wimp years especially !

Absolutely, Kyle Macy's jumper from the head of the key with time running out, put the Cats ahead 102-100! Lead went back and forth the entire game with no one ever pulling ahead by more than 3-5 points.

Given their all distracted by tomorrow nights game I thought it was an excellent crowd. Of course being UK I'd expect nothing else. A chance at beating UK in basketball is kind of like a chance to beat Alabama in football. Either will fill up a place even with an apathetic fan base. Who doesn't want to defeat the "evil empire". The true measure of other SEC schools lack of passion for basketball can be seen by watching just about any other conference game not involving UK. It's really sad sometimes to see almost no one at many of those games.

I just don't understand that...you gotta figure tickets are cheap as hell to non-UK games, it is an athletic event at your school and against a conference opponent. Are other fanbases just doo dumb to enjoy more than one sport? I enjoy UK football, b-ball, women's b-ball, baseball, softball, etc. Another reason why UK fans are the best fans in the SEC IMO.

some years ago, I was visiting a friend (big UK fan of course) who lives in Alabama; we got a wild hair, at the last minute, to go to an Alabama basketball game - can't even remember who they were playing, but I do remember they had this really great top player who got injured that game. The tickets were 10 bucks, I think - and while we had "uppers" - we were able to walk down to the lower arena with no challenge. Ended up just few rows behind the bench.

Just my opinion.

Like a lots of things today, people in these current generations have

1. Extremely short attention span. 1 game a week is what they can handle.

2. Violent society. People need to see contact or some sort of roughness today or they just aren't interested (as a whole)

3. ESPN and the media brainwashing the NFL/college football every other second. - due to the ever growing fear that the NFL network is gonna eventually take full rights, ESPN just won't shut up about football.

Couple it together, you've got one ignorant sports fan who can handle a few hits and 1 game.

The NFL is starting to actually lose "some" popularity from its height around 2008. I've seen a few studies done where it seems ice coming down a bit from the mountain. Lots of parents are starting to steer clear of the game all together and pick something like baseball.

This is coming from a football former player and coach. I'm just fed up with the way America perceives sports in general today. It's tasteless and generic.
