The wish must be for the benefit of humanity, not selfish. What are you going with?

Gods (allah, Jesus, Zeus, Thor, etc) had never been invented. This would preclude having to wish for “world peace” since religion is the cause of 99% of conflicts. We’d also likely be several hundred years ahead on progress with the elimination of religious zealotry which halted and persecuted scientists for plying their craft.

Wish our medical science professionals would find a cure for all diseases including cancer.

Humanity and our ignorance is the beginning phase of many diseases, and allowing free will to create more, then immediately have a cure is a recipe for disaster.

Everybody gets to do things at the exactly the pace they would choose.

No waiting in line. No traffic. Dinner always ready on time. Seems like a good one to me.

So, you believe that "Gods" were all invented by people and amount to nonsense responsible for all nature of superstition and persecution. And yet you believe in genies who can grant sweeping supernatural wishes? Sounds like there might be a glitch in your cosmology...

Some of us can separate fantasy from delusion. You should try it some day.

Disagree that religion accounts for 99% of war. Other causes of war include conflict over scarce resources, territory gain, civil war, nationalism, political ideology, revolution, etc.

Correct. Thirst for Power, be it of money or land or resources or over people or ideas and beliefs, is what starts every war. So if religion did not exist, those desirous of power would find other reasons to start wars to fill their thirst for more.

I'd do away with mankind's ability and individuals specifically believing they have power and authority over others. Assuming there wouldn't be bad and evil people in this world.

Thats pure speculation on your point then you insist everyone agrees with your personal and unprovable beliefs.

As for your original question, I'd wish for unlimited wishes.

Not insisting on anything, just told the poor dude to give it a try. I doubt he’s capable of independent thought but didn’t want to assume.

An old jewish man is taking a walk, he sees a lamp, picks up the lamp rubs it a genie pops out. The genie says I’ll grant you one wish. So the old jew reaches into his pocket takes out a crumpled map says “You see this area? This is called the middle east, there has been nothing but war and bloodshed here, for centuries can you do anything. And the genie goes, even with my power I can’t do anything about that area. Can I grant you another wish? So he says, “Well I’ve been married for forty years and my wife has never given me a blow job. Could you get her to do that for me just once?” And the genies goes, “Can I look at that map again?”

Said in the money not an object thread, I also would donate money for animal rescue so my wish would be along the lines of that. Animal welfare.

I get where you're coming from but I wish people would put that same energy into the lives of people.

Plenty do. What efforts do you personally put forth towards any particular cause towards humanity? I actively support my cause by donating annually to an animal shelter and volunteer (costs nothing to donate time) in them every weekend on Saturday mornings. Something I have done since high school. Shouldn't knock anyone these days who put forth an effort towards any cause for good just because you don't think it ranks as important on your list. If you don't actively volunteer or donate, shouldn't be criticizing anyone here. As long as someone is making a difference volunteering or donating, would never tell people how to spend their time or money.

You seemed to take my response personally, which was not my intent. I just don't see many Sarah McLachlan type commercials in regards to people. But I get the affectionnfor animals. We're animal lovers here. Have taken on animals that nobody wanted and gave/give them a good life that they deserve. My point is that humans deserve it more. Nothing more. Nothing less. Again, I wasn't aiming at you, just the movement I see in general. Have a nice day.

I'm glad to hear that you have taken on animals that no one has wanted and it is a commendable thing to do. 3 of my 4 are rescues. As far as commercials they are out there, I see them frequently for things like Wounder Warrior Project which is another important to me as a Veteran, see a lot of cancer awareness ones, St. Jude's and one other I have donated too a few times the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund during their annual telethon. They even entice people to donate with packages and always surpass their goal each year. The outreach is definitely there.

I agree it's out there. Animals are easy to help because they aren't ass hats like people are. The Wife donates her time to Raptor Rehab here in Kentucky. I've went to more than a few bird releases. It's a really cool spectacle. I'll freely give up fish I catch to help feed them. If we had our way, we'd have a massive piece of land full of senior animals. I used to give a good amount weekly to United Way until some years back that money was being taken to fund certain folks lifestyles. I'd much rather give to people on the streets. My intentions are always good. Once it's out of my hands it's on them.

Fishing to help feed the birds for Raptor Rehab sounds like a fun way to help the birds. Definitely understand not wanting to line the pockets of a CEO. When I donate to the Rescue Ranch on the website, specifically select for animal care (vet care, food, things of that nature.) It's on them if they chose something other than my designation. I bring donate dog/cat food when I can, paper to shred to change their bedding for the animals to lay on that I help clean out when there on Saturday. Volunteering is always one way people who don't have the means to help if they still want to contribute to any organization they feel like. AMVETS is another organization I like to donate items to help Veterans and have volunteered in local Food Banks preparing meals.
