Yahtzee - Tommy Ziesmer commits to UK

At 6’2’’ (but I’m assuming shorter since measurements lie) do we think he’d play TE? Seems like DL all the way pending growth spurt. I’ll hang up and listen.

Rivals lists him as 6'3" 235. Hand in the dirt DE, think Paschal. Looks pretty quick with first step on film.
247 days 6’2’’. Who do we believe and why are measurements never accurate until players show up at the NFL Combine?

Agreed. On TV, PGA Tour Live said Scottie Scheffler had a 6’11” putt for birdie but on the PGA TourCast it said he was 6’10” from the hole. How hard is it to measure correctly!

I will say this, thank you Tommy. I know only little bit about you, much more of your dad. You, young sir, will be one of my favorites. Bring it now, GO ZUESMER!!! Class act I’m am betting!

If an inch or two, or 15-20 pounds, made as much difference with putters as it does positional football you might have a point lol

Dakota Patterson transferred from Corbin to Boyle this week. Already a UK recruit and it seems even more likely that a commitment will be likely now.
Not a take currently and I'd be really, really surprised if he ever became one.

Because he is a defensive guy. Staff is likening him to Josh Paschal. Big shoes to fill.

It’ll be interesting to see if Patterson regains prominence with this move.

It just occurred to me: this made the head of a Louisville Coach or two explode: A player likely not known to them moved from one community with which they are not familiar, to another community with which they are not familiar.

Someone in the Louisville complex issued an order . . . “E-gads, someone find out where Boyle City school is, and while you’re at it, WTF is Corbin County?”

No 4 * guys yet. Hope we start rolling to follow up this years class.
This is the year to really see who the real recruiting sheriffs in town will be IMO….and I’m very curious how UK will do

This is really the first full recruiting cycle with NIL fully in gear with what it’s going to be. Schools have had time to get their money bags ready snd you can essentially buy a class like Texas AM did last year

It is curious to me UK isn’t coming out the gates hot. We’ve got the kids in NFL a ton more, we’ve got a Qb in Heisman/NFL draft boards next year, offensive scheme is NFL, Defense is NFL ish as well, staff is as respected as it’s ever been, facilitates are elite, Marrow is big doggin, etc. we we should be hot…but if we don’t have the $$$ /NIL like Sec counter parts….that may be the tipping point

How many programs sign 12-15 4 to 5 star recruits in a typical year? Not sure that is a reasonable goal.

I thought that was an interesting question and pretty easy to look up. So according to rivals, in 22 there were 9 teams, 12 teams in 21, 16 teams in 20 and 14 in 19. But only 4 did it all 4 of the years I checked, 3 SEC teams and 1 Big10.

Agree completely about this UL staff. Back in the day though would’ve been nice to see the Leffew brothers in blue rather than red.

FWIW, I saw I guy post on another thread that say he knows him. The poster claims to be 6'2" and say Zeisner is a bit taller than him.

We had 11 last cycle and that was only 1 year in to an attractive offensive scheme. 10-12 4 starts needs to be our floor with 12-15 the typical haul if we are going to keep ascending. That would put us perennially in the top 12 in recruiting.

Don’t most blue chips not commit until later in cycles anyway since they have more offers to sort through and are assured schools will keep a spot open for them? Just saying, I don’t think it’s weird UK doesn’t have a lot yet.

Possible exceptions: coaching change (Stoops in 2013 for 2014 class), legacy recruit, lots of instate options. Prob others.

I don't know if others agree with me, but I believe offseason departures of Coach Coen, Sumrall, and Wolford set back our recruiting in certain states temporarily. All three guys were recruiting leaders for us, regardless of how we may feel now about Wolford in hindsight. Early in this class, we are getting instate verbals because that is Marrow's territory. Marrow also got Tanner Lemaster out of Ohio. Shamar Porter out of Nashville is a great score for Scott Woodward, but we have to hold onto him until December. Woodward, Chris Collins and Anwar Stewart are inheriting bigger recruiting roles now. Rich Scangerello has never recruited major college athletes before. These are big adjustments for our staff. Fortunately, Mike Stoops has been recruiting top shelf Florida players for decades and should score some good commitments for our class before the signing date.

You could be very right...

- Collins was not good at all last year...one of his main targets was the Juco DB who decommitted....this year is big for him to show his ware as a recruiter
- Buffano....no clue
- Mike Stoops....huge shoes to replace Sumrall. I just don't see him as upgrade recruiting no matter how you slice it.
- Yenser....he's really brand new to recruiting...Wolford was well versed in recruiting...I'm hoping
- Coen bringing in Levis will go down as huge a recruiting in decades. Also his role in Dane Key, Wandale, etc...Scangerallo will be a huge step to replace as recruiter.
- Woodward....let's hope he can take a step up to lessen recruiting hit.

All in all, we need to fully replace guys like Clink, Sumrall and even Wolford...I've yet to see if that is giong to happen.

You cannot play TE for KY unless you are from Ohio, as per the Marrow era. The numbers are overwhelming. He will play defense.
