YAHTZEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DB Chris Westry

What does this mean for Custis and Williamson and Causey and.......Lewis? Seems that if they take 4 WRs this class they'd only have room for one more DB with Westry's commit.

Auburn fans are saying his offer was pulled. Either way it is still a great pick up for UK.

May have been but Muschamp thought enough of him to offer while at UF.

He isn't listed on UK's commit list yet but already removed from Auburn's so I didn't see his numerical rating, sure he is a three star, for what little that tells you.

But the bottom line with me is if our coaches want him then I want him.

Congrats, Mr Westry, a wise choice of a program on the rise, hope you are a big part of it.

A former Auburn football commit is the 18th member of Kentucky's 2015 recruiting class after the flipped to UK today.
Chris Westry, a three-star defensive back, took an official visit to Lexington over the weekend. Today, the staff met with him again and Westry told gave his verbal commitment to Kentucky. The Orange Park, Florida product also held offers from Florida, Arkansas, South Florida and Central Florida. He originally committed to Auburn last summer.

jauk, FWIW....Dinson and Westry are both 3*, Dinson 5.5 and Westry 5.6 on Rivals. Westry's size has been mentioned, Dinson is 5'11" 165.

Nice, love it when we flip a player from the one of the "big boys." Welcome to the BBN Mr. Westry!

This is awesome. We need some bigger DBs to cover these big, athletic WRs nowadays. Takes away some of the mismatches if you got a 6"4 CB in coverage against a 6'4", to 6'6" WR, instead of the usual 5'9" to 5'11" CB that usually make up most secondaries.

He just got an offer from Arkansas. Auburn, Florida and Arkansas offered. Pretty impressive list!

No way they pulled their offer. It is the front page article on their website that he flipped to UK.

Also jauk11 if you ever want to see a specific recruit's profile just search "Player's Name rivals" on google.

Or use the search function on this site, it's not hard just type in the recruits name and the class he's in under the FB Recruiting tab.

Thanks for the info, sounds like an upgrade to me if it is a trade. Dinson's size always bothered me, must be very fast or something for the attention he is getting at that size though.

Thanks for the other tips, but I have tried to look up recruits on the FB recruitin tab literally hundreds of times, just typed in Christopher Westry, DB, UK in the 2015 designated space and every time I get nothing found. I'm not sure what I should do different, is it my computer, no other problems with it. Always thought it was weird.

From what I read on their Rivals site they still wanted him. He just didn't like the three new coaches that were hired.

the positives i heard about this were.... aub old db coach is well thought of and has put a lot of guys in the nfl. westry camped there this summer and ran a 4.43 and really impressed the dc and cb coach.... was offered on the spot. he's raw technique wise but a freak athlete. 6'4" dude running a legit 4.4ish 40 is burning. auburn fans seemed really high on his "potential". i'd say a rs year, then a year of backing up some guys, then he could very well be on the field in regular rotation.

You don't see too many 6-4 CB's. In fact I can't think of one off the top of my head. Does he have the hips to play CB or is he a candidate for FS?

Cromartie that played for FSU 5-6 years ago was 6-3/6-4. Still in NFL I think.

Happy with this pickup.

I wish the kid well with the CB thing, but if that doesn't work out, as pointed out, he sounds like a sick FS in the making, maybe something like 6-4 205 once on the field, and kicking a 4.5??? That will get the job done and then some when you bring the wingspan of a 6-4 athlete to the contest for ball.
