Wright to BYU

Wright, Saunders, Dybantsa, and Stokes!

I could play the fifth spot and they would still be incredible.

Well, maybe not, but still that’s a crazy amount of talent for college.
They have big man Keita coming back next season as well. Loaded boosters and loaded roster.

Because most of the Catholic Church's "wealth" is in property (churches, monasteries, schools, hospitals, art, etc.).

Whereas the Mormon Church is run like a for-profit corporation that has close to a quarter TRILLION dollars in mostly fungible assets.

Plus, the Mormon Church is much smaller in reach and population. The Catholic hierarchy isn't particularly concerned about whether people in Sri Lanka get to see Notre Dame win a natty. The Mormon Church is VERY concerned about how Americans view them; they desperately want to be seen as "normal." Throwing $20 million at a national basketball title and all the press coverage that comes with that is seemingly a very worthwhile investment for them.
Then Mark Pope should make a case to tap into that same wealth. For one, BYU is seen as a myopic, insolated little corner of the world where everyone thinks, speaks, and dress the same way.

Pope, meanwhile, is at the head of college basketball's best and most recognizable brand. He has a wider audience, and is "doing the Lord's work" in the eyes of the LDS.

In many ways, Pope is evangelizing the nation through his position at Kentucky.

Mark Pope could, and should, tap into the Mormon wealth pipeline under that argument.
