This is the best LSU has played all year, with the talent they have they could beat anybody if they're playing together as a cohesive unit..no lack of talent on the roster now with victor and Hornsby. Am I disappointed cal didn't completely out coach Jones? Yes, but still.. The three losses we have were always potential losses. I don't think we lose more than two more sec games, we'll see but I think we're going to improve and be a very tough team come March.
Some of these losses you can see coming a mile away. I didn't even watch the game tonight. Didn't bother. Knew what would happen. Shows and Adams being announced as officials made it that much easier to find something else to do.
Regardless of who the officials were we weren't going to win. When Cal has a team that's this young they struggle on the road. SEC road games are a different animal for us than other teams.
Crowds just don't get as into it, officials aren't as intimidated, and players just don't have the same energy for other teams that they do for UK.
Most road games our guys literally have to be at least 12-15 points better to actually come away with a win.
This years team just isn't there and aren't going to get there. The best we can hope for is that they'll at least eventually get to the point that they can win the games on a neutral court like the 2011 and 2014 teams did.
I will say, LSU has the highest ceiling of any team in the conference besides UK. Before the season every one had this circled as a loss. Before the season everyone had UCLA circled as a maybe. The Ohio state game is really the only head scratcher so far.
We might lose to Bama too. I've watched them a few times and they already look better than they have at any point during the Anthony Grant era
