Wow, this stadium is going to look outstanding.

IS that little wedge between decks the recruiting room? That's an awesome placement, see the entire field, coverage in bad weather. [thumb2]

No If I remember correctly the recruiting room is in the end zone right above where the team comes out and surrounded by the student section.

correct, what you are seeing is the new club area, which is fantastic. The recruiting area should be to the right of that in the endzone. I LOVE seeing all the blue in the stadium now...fantastic!

It may have the same amount of people in it, but it's going to be so much louder. The suites keep the noise in. Plus, once the fans get it a little loud, they'll want it to stay loud. It'll become a thing.

The inside looks great...the outside not so much. Looks like they slapped Tan highway noise barriers around half of the outside to hide portions of metal structure. They do have about 6' of good looking limestone around base of building. I wish the could have used brick like Florida St to hide the steel supports. Oh well better than before but still looks bland.

Kentucky limestone > girders
You're just being picky. The outside of the stadium looks far better than it previously did.

Totally disagree. The look of the exterior is 1000% improved over what we had previously.

Stadium looks great. I am forever grateful to UK for finally sinking some money into football.

I was critical of the designs when they first came out (exterior wise). After seeing it in person back in the winter I was sold. Completely transforms the stadium and those who have not seen it in person yet will be amazed when they see it. Photos and video does not do it justice.

Exterior is a big upgrade but still a little boring. I think Kyle field wi have a really nice exterior. The club level area at CWS looks really nice thus far. Glad they invested in stadium upgrade

It won't go from Commonwealth Stadium to Kyle Field in one off-season. Gotta build towards that.

Was this whiny comment necessary?

See. They like the power k.
Really, I thought it looked more like a U - haha! Really closer to the new "k" in the logo. Still don't like that new logo!

Go Big Blue!

P.S. Maybe we can have a nostalgia game and bring back the old logo!

Alot of folks do not realize they put $400M into the Kyle Field renovation. Ridiculous for a college football stadium that gets used 7-8 times a year.

$120M is a lot of dough and think they stretched it as far as they could in CWS. It at least gets CWS into the 21st century and will be enough to continue to build the program. There are still some things they can do to improve it, but for now it will serve its purpose.

Does anyone have any updated pictures of the exterior? The Live Construction Cam on the website for the exterior has been down since the end of May. I'd like to see how it looks now.

I just drove by it today. Sorry but I didn't take any pictures. But believe me, it is beautiful.

The road leading in, Alumni, got a big upgrade as well. The stadium looks very nice.

I can take some pics tomorrow and send to someone who can upload...I believe I Am Stupid posted some earlier in the construction phases.

Also, for those concerned about the new tan box appearance on the outside, think of a large ship being built and picture the ribs without the hull. The stadium prior to construction showed the ribs or under belly of the support. The new limestone and outer walls cover most of those internal support structures and make it look bigger and sleek.

I work right beside the stadium and I'll tell you this; they pressure washed that outside walling for days and weeks...the sides of the stadium have expanded out about 25 feet and completely new sidewalks, sod and greenery are in process of installation.

Although work will continue this season and next off season, those that go to games this year will be impressed with the progress.

The little touches, like the landscaping outside and other things like that, are going to push this thing over the edge and absolutely blow some people away. Cant wait.

CWS is an entirely different stadium with and entirely different feel already.

Autzen Stadium has a very similar exterior finish to it with the limestone. It has a very classy, great look.

That stadium came to mind immediately when I first saw the designs for the new CWS.

Let's not forget the Oregon connection to UK. Brooks and Rob Mullins (who was Mitch's right hand man at one time). Zero doubt Mitch reached out to him for some input. UK will have a turf training hill at their new complex. The only other school to have one is you guessed it, Oregon. You also see the uniform designs, etc. Not sure I have ever heard Mitch say it publicly, but everything points to him and UK using Oregon as a heavy influence on how they are building KY Football.

The front of their stadium is what I envision CWS looking like if or when they ever add a second level to the front of the stadium.

My brother lives in the Keys. I sent him some pics I took of the stadium Sunday to look at and he asked if they had rebuilt the stadium. It dose look brand new. The inside looks awesome.

First time I have heard that UK will have a hill at their new complex. Oregon did a great job of encorporating the hill and a huge sandpit into their facility. Coach Radcliffe, the S&C coach was one of the first guys out there to work a lot with speed and agility back in the day and not just weights.

Have they disabled all the cameras showing progress because I just tried to look and it was a picture in the middle of the night.
