Wow, the late hit on Ware ??

Just rewatching the game and am at the point where Ware was called for a late hit on Mauk. The official did not throw his flag until #60 for mizzou blasted into one of our players well after the Ware late hit. The ref was obviously going to flag #60. What the hell happened?

I could understand if they flagged both but the late hit by the mizzou player was much worse and way late. Why no flag?​

But it is entirely inexcusable not to flag the Mizzou player. I almost expected him to get tossed.

i thought he samething. I could have seen off setting calls. I'm not sure the kid was OOB when Ware got him.

Yeah, I thought at worst, offsetting. But the call should have been on the mizzou player. Officials should be REQUIRED to explain such calls.

I honestly think they just forgot to make the call against the Mizzou player. A brain fart, if you will. That doesn't excuse it. And I dint know why the UK players/coaches didn't make a bigger deal out of it.

The Mizzou player should have been tossed. It was basically punch to the jaw. Granted he did it with his fore arm and not his fist but still he decked Ware with a hit to the jaw. Dorian Baker got suspended for less than that. And since the refs were able to see Ware's late hit there is no way they didn't see it.

Bogus call on Ware as little Maty was still in bounds when Denzil pushed him out and as it has been mentioned Mizzou's LT should've been at the very least flagged if not ejected.

The player that hit aware was not even in the game. Just a cheap shot that deserved to be called and he should have been ejected. Didn't have a problem with Ware's call if our QB gets hit the same way I want a flag.

May be right. It certainly looked like he conferred with the side judge and they pointed back at the mizz huddle to get his number. And then nothing.

Am I correct in remembering Brooks say he was "warned" about coming to UK because they get dumped on by refs.

Because I don't want to make a new thread but, equally as bad was the personal foul chop block.

Our linemen got absolutely burned on the play and was a good 2 yards from the rusher. There is NO WAY that could be considered double engaged. Luckily, patty ice found Conrad for a touchdown and it became irrelevant

That's been happening forever, the other team gets their shots in and we get called for a border line penalty, and his was at the head and with malicious intent, ref didn't even look at the Mizzou dude, the cyclops in the stripes had selective vision on that play.

Yep. And those stating Ware didn't deserve a penalty are incorrect. Not even sure how one can argue it wasn't.

Watch the replay...initially, I was in favor of him getting the flag seeing it live but watching the replay, Mauk was a full step in bounds when Ware put his hands on him. At the stadium, I did not see #60 cheap shot Ware but on the replay, he did it with two officials standing a couple yards from them watching.

Ware has to learn that since he has uk on his jersey, they are going to throw the flag. I can't really understand why #60 was not flagged.

I would have thought UK would have sent film of that to the SEC office. Once they played the next down it was a mute point in the game but the SEC can go back after reviewing film and take action i.e. suspension(s) in cases like that. The Mizzou player smashed him well after the play was over.
